Reconstructed Infirmary Records, Richland County, Ohio, 1845-1955  (2005) by Jan Purvis and published by the Richland County Genealogical Society.  Fires in 1878 and 1924 destroyed the infirmary and many records.  The author has used surviving records and information from various alternate sources, such as census records and area cemetery books for the information included.  There are columns for name, age, sex, nativity, usual residence, date of admission, reason for admission and misc. notes, such as place of burial, cause of death, parents, etc.  The publication is spiral bound and printed in landscape format.  It will became a standard reference book to use for Richland County research.  Member/library price:  $15.00 + sales tax and $3.00 s/h.  Non-member price is $18.00 + $1.22 sales tax and $3.00 s/h.

Where We Came From -- The Carl A. Baker and Mary Mabelle (Dunlap) Baker Ancestors and Descendants and Many Allied Lines, Vol. 1 and II  (2003) by by Francis J. Baker.  This 853-page labor of love includes an every name index for each volume and is sold only as a set.  Mr. Baker had eleven family lines in Richland County, Ohio, in the early 1800's.  Researchers with Richland County roots will want to examine this book.  The cost is $60.00 per set, plus sales tax for Ohio residents and $6.00 s/h.

Mansfield Cemetery and St Peter's Cemetery Burials - 1854-2000, The cost of the book is $65 + $6 s/h and sales tax for Ohio residents. This cemetery book is so large that we are publishing it as a set in two volumes. Approximately 1000 pages, hardbound, Smythe sewn & 8½ x 11. Burials are in alphabetical order, with name, age, residence, marital status, date of death, cause of death & location of burial. Many early burials may have note with them that contains additional information about that burial.

This 205 page book is a complete history of early Mansfield begun by General Roeliff Brinkerhoff, and first published in The Mansfield Herald in 1857. This book contains short stories about the happenings of the Indians, pioneers, personalities, wars, etc., written by the people who lived them. Richland County, Ohio Original Land Purchasers (1999), $27.00 + $3 shipping + sales tax for Ohio residents. The original work for this book was compiled by Ellsworth Morse, Jr. but never published. The Richland County Genealogical Society, with the permission of his family, has published his work and added the School Land Purchasers. Richland County has more school lands than any other county in Ohio. These lands were used to pay for schools in Richland and other counties. In this book you will find the name of the land purchaser, an assignee (when given), the former place of residence of the purchaser, number of acres, cost of the land purchased, date of entry and patent, location of the tract and certificate number. This 8 1/2 x 11 book has 325 pages, is Smythe sewn, hardbound, and has an every name index.

The genealogical section of Hardesty's Historical and Geographical Encyclopedia published in 1885 has been reprinted by The Richland County Genealogical Society. This book contains 276 biographies of many brave men who served from Richland County. Most biographies contain information about the veteran, and his family; often dates of birth for his children, his marriage, the company in which he served, battles in which he fought, and injuries he received.
