RESEARCH REQUESTS
The Lucas County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society is a nonprofit educational organization of persons interested in family history, and as such, we will do genealogy research for Lucas County Ohio. Our research is limited to the holdings of the Toledo Public Library, which has an extensive local history department. This department has many local and family histories. The Toledo Blade newspaper, 1835 to the present, is available on microfilm. Early Lucas County Probate records are available, including birth, death and marriage records.
Our volunteers will respond to clear and direct questions submitted by letter. We encourage you to provide a self-addressed stamped envelope and your e-mail address.
Research time is billed at $7.00 per hour for actual research, with a minimum charge of $5.00 for each request, whether or not information is found. Photocopies are 15 cents each. Postage is charged at cost.
