• Erected and organized on July 29, 1797.
• Part of Washington County attached on December 19, 1799.
• Diminished by the formation of Trumbull County on July 10, 1800.
• Diminished by the formation of Belmont County on September 7, 1801.
• Diminished by the formation of Columbiana County on May 1, 1803.
• Western Boundary extended January 31, 1807.
• Part attached to Tuscarawas County on February 11, 1809.
• Diminished by the formation of Harrison County on February 1, 1813.
