He was born Oct 29, 1918 in Xenia, OH, a son of George and Emmarean (BREAKALL) ACKLEY. He was a lifelong resident of the Clark County area. He was a US Army veteran serving during World War II. He retired from the Morris Bean Co in 1979 and was a member of the United Steel Workers of America No 6931. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy J (HOCKETT); one stepdaughter, Deborah ANWAY, Spfld; three brothers, Harold, Spfld, Ralph, Chillicothe, and Charles, Gardenia, CA; seven sisters, Mrs. David (Helen) ATWELL, Grove City, Oh, Mrs. Frances MCMASTERS, Cameron, WV, Mrs. Gary (Rosemary) VANSICLE, Columbus, Oh, Mrs. Peurl (Nancy) BROWN, Waverly, Oh, Edith HUTCHINSON, Mrs. Dorothy EBLIN, and Mrs. Kenneth (Opal) STRAUSBAUGH, all of Chillicothe; one step-grandson; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, George ACKLEY, Jr and one sister, Ruth CAIN. He was born May 19, 1906, in Spfld, a son of Emory and Mae (MUMPER) BAKER. He had been a lifelong Spfld area resident. He had worked for 26 years with the Crowell-Collier Co as a journeyman and had spent his last 14 years at the International Harvester Co working in the stock room. He is a member of the Upper Valley Road Church of God and the Elderly United, Spfld. Survivors include his wife, the former Iona DAVIS, whom he married March 19, 1937; one half-sister, Mrs. Charles (Doris) SPAHR, Spfld; one half-brother, Lawrence FETTER, Frankford, DE; and four nephews, Jack DAVIS, Jr, David, Norman, And Dale FETTER. He had been the parts manager at Trenor Motor Co for the past 38 years. He was US Army Veteran, serving during World War II, during which time he was a POW. Survivors include his wife, Esther A (KADELL); two sons, R Richard CORY, Spfld, and Ronald K CORY, Morristown, TN; two daughters, Mrs. Larry (Dawne)EVANS and Marya WRIGHT, both of Spfld; one sister, Helen HENSHEW, Paramount, CA,; eight grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother, Horace CORY, Feb 2, 1983. His body was taken to the Austin Richards & Raff Memorial Home, where friends may call from 6 - 9 pm Monday. He was preceded in death by his wife, Julia, in 1976, and also two brothers, John and Harry. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Rachel) SIMPSON, Glendale, Arizona; one son, Mr. Gerald W. SHANK, Springfield; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. His body was taken to the Woods-Alliger Funeral home 1 -3 and 6 - 9 p.m. Wednesday. Mr. LARSEN, a retired school teacher, had taught in Troy, NY. before teaching for 35 years in the Sprigfield City Schools. He had also taught at Sinclair College. An award winning athlete, Mr. LARSEN had been an instructor in a boys camp in Booth, Maine for a number of years. Mr. LARSEN was a member of Clark Lodge No. 101 F & AM for over 50 years. He is survived by his wife, Helen (TIFFANY) LARSEN; one daughter, Patricia Ann DAVIS; one granddaughter, Lara Elaine DAVIS, all Springfield; one sister, Beatrice E. JONES., Lompoc CA.; several nieces and nephews. His body was taken to the Littleton Funeral Home where there will be no visitation. His body will be cremated. Graveside services will be conducted at Rosehill Cemetery at the convenience of the family. The Rev. Donald Gillhouse of Grace Lutheran Church will officiate. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and an employee of the Champion Chemical Co. He attended the Eastside Freewill Baptist Church. He was born in Lawrence County, Ohio, Sept. 2, 1905, a son of Homer and Alice (Massie) DeMent. He retired from White Motors Co. in 1967. He is survived by his wife, Dortha Ann (Clemans) DeMent; one sister, Mrs. Edna Morningstar, South Charleston; one brother, Clayton DeMent, South Charleston; nieces and nephews. Arrangements are pending at the Rader Funeral Home, London.

She was born in New Bedford, MA, June 3, 1923, a daughter of Charles H and Eliza (NUTTALL) HUGHES. She was a registered nurse for the US Army from 1945 to 1948 and a member of Christ Episcopal Church. In addition to her mother, Eliza HUGHES, Fairhaven Mass, she was a dear wife to Col. M.M. NEWKIRK and loving mother to Mrs Mark (Judith) IRVINE and Mrs Frank (Lisa) BLAZER, both of Spfld. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles H HUGHES and a brother, Earle HUGHES. Her body was donated to the Wright State University Medical School. A Requiem Eucharist service will be held at 7:30 pm Thurs in the Christ Episcopal Church with the Rev C Douglas Simmons, officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Christ Episcopal Church.
