Date Unknown; AA Emloyee Dies; Rites Are Pending Russell Lamar BOWER, 53, of 7806 E. 4th St., American Airlines supervisor, died of an apparent heart attack Tuesday afternoon. BOWER had been with American Airlines 20 years on Nov. 29th and was scheduled to receive an award for 20 years service at a dinner meeting Wednesday night. He had been a supervisor about 10 years. A native of New Carlisle, Ohio, BOWER moved to Tulsa in 1933 where he attended the University of Tulsa. He was a Mason and a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include his widow Josephine; two daughters, Mrs. LaVerne Jo ELDER of 5634 S. Yorktown Place and Mrs. Marilyn Kay CHAPEL of Springdale, Ark.; his mother, Mrs. Bessie BOWER of Springfield, Ohio/ two sisters, Mrs. Verna MURPHY of Desert Hot Springs, Calif., and Mrs. Marie STAIGHT of Springfield, Ohio, and two grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are pending with Moore's Eastlawn Chapel.

Mrs. Nora M. HANSBARGER, 75, of 100 South Clay St., died at 5 a.m. Monday in Stouder Memorial Hospital, Troy. Mrs. HANSBARGER was born in Clark County, December 5, 1897, the daughter of Sylvester and Marietta HECK THOMAS. She was a member of First Church of God, Springfield. Several nieces and nephews survive. Her husband, Loren, died in 1958. Friends may call in the Trostel-Chapman Funeral Home from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in First Church of God, Springfield by the Rev. Dr. Arlo Newell. Burial will be in Vale Cemetery.

He was born Dec. 14, 1902, in Springfield, the son of John J. and Mary E. CAHILL COLLINS. Mr. Collins retired in 1952 with 23 years of service as a member of the Springfield Fire Department. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy L.; two sons, John P. of Canoga Park, Calif. and Jeffrey A. of Springfield; four daughters, Mrs. William (Marjorie) SIMS and Mrs. William (Faye) MORRISON of Springfield, Mrs. Victor (Connie) LISEC of Travis Air Base, Calif., and Mrs. James (Linda) DRAFFIN of Decatur, Ga; 10 grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Ralph (Mae) LEHMAN of Toledo, Mrs. Murl (Nelle) CARTWRIGHT of Fullerton, Calif., Mrs. William (Margaret) JONES of Toledo and one brother, James of Enon. He was preceded in death by a brother, William. His body was taken to the Littleton Funeral Home.

Page 12. Earl L. MARTIN, 89 died at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Good Shepherd Nursing Home where he had been a resident for four years. Mr. MARTIN was one of the organizers and former presidents of the Springfield Builders Supply Co., having retired 29 years ago. He formerly operated grocery stores on Linden av. and in Myers Market. He was born in Bookwalter, O., March 16, 1883, the son of James and Anna SMITH MARTIN. He had been a resident of Springfield for 70 years. He was a member of the Central Christian Church and a 50-year member of Anthony Lodge 455, F. and A. M. Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Nellie WOLLAM of Hudson, O., and several nieces and nephews. Mr. MARTIN's wife, Adda, died July 19, 1963. His body was taken to the Littleton Funeral Home. Mrs. Alberta M. BURTON 77, of 345 N. Champaign St., Catawba, died at 7 P.M. Thursday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Robert (Dea Mae) KELLEY of Catawba. She was a member of the Methodist Church and of Gold Star Mothers. Mrs. Burton was born in Clark County on March 24, 1895, to Daniel and Catherine LEFFEL MCGILLIVRAY. Survivors include two sons, Robert of Liberty, Ind., and James of Springfield; four daughters, Mrs. Harry (Nell) EGGER, Mrs. Glen (Ruth) MOORE of Springfield, Mrs. Charles (Martha) CHAMBERLAIN of Carlisle and Mrs. Kelley (with whom she lived); 19 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Dewey of Tremont City and Anthony and T. Clarence BURTON of Springfield, as well as a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Burton's husband, Clifford L., died in 1948. A son, William, was killed in military action in World War II. A son, John, died in 1972, and two sons, Justus and Richard, died in infancy. Mrs. Burton's body was taken to Littleton Funeral Home for services at 2 P.M. Saturday conducted by Clarence Prugh, associate, Second Church of God, and the Rev. J. M. Garst, Church of the Brethren, Dayton. Friends may call from 3-5 and 7-9 P.M. Friday. Mrs. Ethel I. CALLISON, 78, widow of Howard D. CALLISON died at 7:30 AM Friday in Community Hospital following a brief illness. She was a lifelong resident of the Springfield area. She was born 4-16-1894 in CLARK Co, a daughter of Martin and Alice Lutz BAKER. She was a member of First Church of God where she was a choir member for 30 years and a Sunday School teacher for 41 years. She was also a member of the Golden Age fellowship of the church. Survivors are one son, Howard E. CALLISONof Springfield; one daughter Mrs Charles (Thelma) PENCIL, also of Springfield, 7 grandchildren, 8 grandchildren( this is what was written), one sister Mrs. Eva MUNN of Springfield and one brother, Luther BAKER also of Springfield. Her busband died 2-5-1961. The Rev. D. Arlo NEWELL will conduct services at 2PM Tuesday in First Church of God where the body will lie in state for one hour before the service. Mrs. Rella Ann ANDERSON, 87, of 550 W. Possum rd., died at 4 p.m. Friday in Mercy Medical Center after two years of failing health. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and the widow of William ANDERSON, who died in October of 1950. Mrs. ANDERSON was born Aug. 22, 1885, in Bainbridge, to Henry and Mary MARRIMAN POTTS. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Helen LEHMAN, with whom she lived; a sister, Mrs. Alice THOMPSON of Springfield; several half-brothers and half sisters; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-granddaughter. A son, Albert ANDERSON, died March 6. Mrs. ANDERSON'S body was taken to the Littleton Funeral Home, where friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Services will be conducted Monday at 3 p.m. at the funeral home by the Rev. Kay M. Gleasner, pastor of St. John Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery.

Mrs. Marjorie CRABBS, former society editor of the Sun in the early 1940's, died at 3:15 a.m. Friday in Riverside Hospital, Columbus. She had made her home at 3179 Ainwick rd., Columbus, and was 65 years old. Mrs. CRABBS was born in Springfield, Oct. 25, 1907, the daughter of Frank and May REED. She was a graduate of Denison University and the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. Mrs. CRABBS and her husband owned and operated the Gift Bowl in Columbus. Survivors include her husband, Marvin, a former city editor of The Sun, and a stepson, Marvin of Livonia, Mich. Her body was taken to the Schoedinger Funeral Home, Northwest, Columbus, where friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in the funeral home. Graveside services and burial will be a 12 noon Monday in Ferncliff Cemetery.

She had been in failing health one year. She was born Nov. 16, 1885 in Cincinnati, the daughter of Harry and Anne SCHILMOELER SWEGMAN. Mrs. Warren was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Her first husband, Lawrence MARTIN, preceded her in death in 1941 and her second husband, Bert Warren, preceded her in death in 1970. Survivors include a daughter; four grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Her body was taken to the Conroy Funeral Home where friends may call from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Mass of the Resurrection will be sung at 9:30 a.m. Friday in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Mrs. Bertha F. McDonald, 55, a Springfield native, died at 7:05 p.m. Saturday in University Hospital, Columbus. Mrs. McDonald, a resident of McArthur, Route 2, had been ill six months. She was born in Springfield Nov. 1, 1917, the daughter of William and Amanda SWARTZBAUGH FULLER. Mrs. McDonald was a member of Serena chapter, Order of Eastern Star and the McArthur Presbyterian Church. She was self-employed as the owner of a McArthur beauty salon for 25 years. Her husband, Charles, died in 1967. Survivors are five daughters, Mrs. Beverly WRIGHT of McArthur, Mrs. Marline PETERE of McArthur, Route 2, Mrs. Peggy BUTCHER of Anaheim, Calif., Mrs. Geraldine PUMP of McArthur, Route 2, and Mrs. Jeannette SMITH of Anaheim, a son Michel W. of McArthur, a sister, Mrs. Helen SPARROW of Springfield, and a half-sister, Mrs. Doris STONE of Dayton. Mrs. Marie A. WHITACRE, 70, of 104 Freeman Street, died at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in Mercy Medical Center following several years of failing health and two weeks of serious illness. She was born January 1, 1903, in Springfield, the daughter of Henry and Anna KRUSCHADT HUONKER, and had resided here all of her life. She was preceded in death in 1965 by her husband, David. She was also preceded in death by a son, Joseph, a daughter, Rita and a brother John. Survivors include two daughters, Miss Ruth WHITACRE of Medway and Mrs. Marie WILLIAMS of Enon; five sons, David, Jr., and Richard E. of Springfield; Paul E. of Fairborn, James R. of Urbana and Robert A. of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; one sister, Mrs. Emma HOWE of Springfield; 21 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Thelma May WEIKERT, 67, of 1008 Imperial blvd., died at 10:55 p.m. Sunday in Mercy Medical Center following six weeks of failing health. She was born September 25, 1905 in Newark, the daughter of W. E. and Carrie ANDREW MCKEEVER. Mrs. Weikert was a contract specialist in the procurement division defense general supply center, Richmond, Va., when she retired in July 1970. She was a member of the Central United Methodist Church, the Sprite-Ly Grandmother's Club, Filiology Club and was a past president of the Jefferson School PTA. Survivors include her husband, Paul H.; three sons, Jerry of Clifton, Va., and Joe and Jim of Springfield; nine grandchildren; and three brothers, Orville E., Virgil and Rodger MCKEEVER, all of Springfield. Cedarville - Funeral services for Ulysses COLLIER, 53, of 7915 Springfield-Jamestown rd., will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Williams Funeral Home, Cedarville. Mr. COLLIER, who retired in 1969 from Springfield Coatings, Inc., died Saturday afternoon in his residence. He was born in Hitchins, Ky., December 22, 1919, a son of Albert and Lettie HAY COLLIER, and attended Carter County schools. On December 23, 1941, he was married to Edna STEVENS, who survives. In 1947 he moved to Hazard, Ky., where he worked in coal mines. In 1950 he moved to the Clifton area and took a job as layout man and welder for Rack Processing Co. of Dayton, where he worked until he was employed by Springfield Udylite. Later he went to Springfield Coatings, Inc. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans in Dayton, attended Apostolic Church of Christ in Springfield and was an honorary Kentucky colonel. Survivors besides his wife are a daughter, Mrs. Madlyn Joan TITER of Clifton; three sons, Robert, Carl and Lynnwood of Springfield; one brother, Arnold of Grayson, Ky.; two sisters, Mrs. Mary EVANS of Mansfield, and Mrs. Russell (Magdeline) PARSONS of Grayson, Ky.; seven grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Sweitzer was employed for the past five years as an instructor at the Interstate Driving School and prior to that had been a foreman at Springfield Brass Co. for over 30 years. He was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society. Survivors include his wife Delores and a son James of the home; three sisters, Mrs. Martha ANTHONY of New Carlisle, Mrs. Mae WILSON of Springfield And Mrs. Magdalena HAYNES of California; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Marion and a half-sister Myrtle Umstead. Funeral mass will be sung at 9:30 A.M. Thursday at St. Bernard's and burial will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery.
