William C. MCCLINTOCK, 70, formerly of 1896 W. Jefferson st., died at 4:35 p.m. Thursday at Mercycrest Nursing Home where he had been a resident for two years. Mr. MCCLINTOCK was employed as a plater by the Springfield Mirror and Plating Co. before his retirement five years ago. He was born May 11, 1895 in Springfield, the son of William G. and Cora TUTTLE MCCLINTOCK and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He leaves seven sons, William R., Richard P., Dale M., Robert L. and Jerry S., all of Springfield, Ronald D. of Indianapolis and Roger E. of California; three daughters, Mrs. Norma HAYES of Catawba, Miss Patty MCCLINTOCK and Mrs. Carolyn MONTGOMERY, both of Springfield; three sisters, Mrs. Jessie SCHAEFER of New Carlisle, Mrs. Elida DONOHOE of New Moorefield and Mrs. Nelvina YOAKEM of Union; 22 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The body was taken to the Littleton Funeral Home.

Page, 6. Mrs. Mabel S. DUANE, 71, formerly of 1872 Quincy rd., died at 4:10 a.m. Wednesday in the IOOF Hospital. She had been in failing health for the past three years. Mrs. Duane was born April 11, 1894 in West Liberty, the daughter of George and Emma DONALD HOLDREN and had been a resident of Springfield most of her life. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, William F. DUANE, in 1959, and a son, William J. DIANE in 1960. Survivors include three sons, Victor E., Lt. Marne R. and Lt. George W. DUANE all of Springfield; two daughters, Mrs. Willard (Marcella) HARRIS and Mrs. Donald (Mona) MARKLEY both of Springfield; one brother, Glenn HOLDREN of Dayton; two sisters, Mrs. Arabel STIFFIN of Dayton and Mrs. Walter RAPPERT of Springfield; 15 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Her body was taken to the Jackson, Lytle and Coffman Funeral Home where friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. R. R. Garrett, officiating. Her body will lien in state from 12 noon to 1 p.m. in the church, prior to services. Burial will be in the Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.

He was born June 11, 1871, in Champaign County, the son of Henry and Mary Leonard COFFELT. Before retirement, Mr. COFFELT was a thresher man by trade. Survivors in addition to his son, are one daughter, Mrs. Millie KNOTTS of Westville; three grandchildren, Mrs. Harriett MCCAULEY of Dayton, Mrs. Mariene SMITH of Xenia and Lowell KNOTTS of Westerville; and two great-grandchildren. His body was taken to the Littleton Funeral Home where friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the funeral home with the Rev. Walter E. Hawke, officiating. Burial will be in the Terre Haute Cemetery.

Thomas P. O'CONNOR, 77, of 1717 Lagonda av., died in Mercy Hospital at 5:10 p.m. Saturday following several months of failing health. He was born on Dec. 31, 1888, in Cardington, O., the son of Maurice and Johanna LYNCH O'CONNOR, and had resided in Springfield almost all of his life. Mr. O'CONNOR was retired machinist since 1957 from the International Harvester Company. He was a member of St. Raphael's Church and the Holy Name Society of that parish. He was also a member of Cultice-Ward Post No. 6, American Legion, and a member of UAW-CIO Local No. 402. Surviving are two brothers, James P. O'CONNOR and John J. O'CONNOR; one sister, Mary O'CONNOR, all of Springfield, and several nieces and nephews. The body was removed to the O'Brien-Kenney Funeral Home where friends may call from 7 to 9 Sunday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. Requiem High Mass will be sung at 9 a.m. Tuesday in St. Raphael's Church. Burial will be Calvary Cemetery.

SHEELY, preceded her in death July 26,1950. Arthur L. FOLEY 76, of Route 1, Pensacola, Fla., died at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday in his residence, following two weeks of serious illnes. Mr. FOLEY had been in failing health for the past two years. He was born April 2, 1889 in Springfield, the son of the Rev. Charles and Anna TOLAND FOLEY. Before retirement in May, 1956, he had been an accountant with the Crowell-Collier Co. and was a member of the Anthony Lodge 455 F. & A.M., the Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton and the Antioch Temple Shrine. Survivors include his wife, Flo B. MCDONALD FOLEY; one daughter, Mrs. Jack (Barbara) MARTIN of Pensacola; one brother, Lloyd FOLEY of Beckenridge, Minn; one half-brother Robert FOLEY of Duluth, Minn; two half-sisters, Mrs. Dorothy HELM and Mrs. Louise SUMPTER, both of Canon City, Colo; four grandchildren and several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter. His body will be brought to the Littleton Funeral Home Saturday morning.

He was born in Boones Mill, Va., August 20, 1879, the son of Harvey and Anna KESSLER LEFFUE, and was a member of the Church of the Brethren, New Carlisle. Mr. LEFFUE was one of the last street car conductors in Springfield. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Leroy (Irene) ELLIOTT of Springfield, Mrs. Betty CARMAN of Maumee, O., and Mrs. Thelma VANWINKLE of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., one sister, Mrs. William EICHHOLTZ, of Springfield; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. His body was taken to the Chapman Memorial Home, New Carlisle, where friends may all from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the memorial home with the Rev. John Middlekauff, pastor of the Church of the Brethren, officiating. Burial will be in New Carlisle Cemetery.

He was born in Springfield but resided in Dayton for the past 30 years. He retired in 1960 as a steamfitter and was a member of Local No. 162 of Dayton. He is survived by his widow Clara B.; one son, Louis, R., of Dayton; one daughter, Mrs. Mary JOHNSON of Charleston, W.Va.; one sister, Mrs. Daisy HEIRONIUMUS of Springfield; one brother, Russell, of Springfield; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. LONDON, O. - Robert Lee LONG, 51, of Summerford, a World War II veteran wounded in the Normandy invasion and holder of the Purple Heart, was found dead in his car behind the Amvets Building at Madison Lake about 3 a.m. Thursday. Madison County Coroner Dr. W. T. Bacon ruled suicide. Mr. LONG'S body was found by the Madison County Sheriff's Department. All of the car windows were rolled up except the one in the right rear which held a flexible hose connected to the exhaust pipe. Mr. LONG was a sergeant with the 328th Infantry Regiment, 83rd Division, and saw action in the European Theater. He held several campaign ribbons, one with a bronze battle star. He was at the time of his death commander of the London post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. LONG formerly was employed as a guard at the London Correctional Institution. He leaves his widow, Fern; two sons, Robert of Springfield and David at home; four daughters, Mrs. Marion MOSSBARGER of Springfield, Mrs. Joseph REEVES and Mrs. Paul EVANS, both of London, and Miss Linda LONG, at home; a brother, Samuel of Galion; a sister, Mrs. Joseph FORBES of Springfield and four grandchildren.
