1840 Federal Census for Clark County, Ohio |

Presented here is the 1840 US Census of Clark County, Ohio.
From this Census, there are 24 to 31 columns of information on each household. The only drawback was only the names of the Heads of Household were scribed. For each household, the number of males and females were broken down into various age groups. Information on free colored persons were written down as well. For the sake of brevity, I only transcribed the age groups that had information contain therein. Totals of each column is at the bottom of each page. I have strived to make this Census as correct at possible. I did find tallying errors the Census Taker made and corrected them but errors are unavoidable and to varify the information, and for additional available information, the microfilms for Clark County are available from the LDS FHCL Microfilm #20,161, Ohio Volume 4, 1-108.
The Enumerators for this census were: Aaron Hedges pages 2-16 and John A. Alexander pages 20-107.
*Please note: The corresponding numbers represent the pages that information was transcribed from. It was a lot less confusing to do it this way. This is a work in progress so come back and check frequently.
