Upcoming meetings

  • March 2008   POSTPONED because of weather  until September.
  • April 10, 2008   Walking tour of downtown architecture led by Kevin Rose of the Turner Foundation; meet in the lobby of the Heritage Center.
  • May 10, 2008   Cynthia B. Vogel of Versailles, Ohio speaking about the roles women played during the
    Civil War. She will have copies of her book about Civil War women in the 1860's that helped as soldiers, spies and in government
  • June 14, 2008  touring the David Crabill House at the Clarence J.
    Brown Reservoir. All attendees will enjoy a potluck meal. The Genealogy Society will
    provide meat and drink. Bring table service, a covered dish and prepare for a picnic
    lunch.
Share your research This is a new page on our site where members can have their family information and photos posted to share with other researchers.  We can accept photos, narratives and reports, but not Gedcom files, at least not at present.  If you don't have a web site for your family research, you can still have some of your information online-right here.    
Join us at a meeting Upcoming meetings, membership application, and information on becoming a member of First Families and/or Settlers of Clark County.  Meetings are held the second Saturday of the month at 11:00 a.m. at the Heritage Center in Discovery Hall or near our office inside the Library.  All meetings are open to the public.
Help us Volunteer opportunities for those living in or near Clark County, or far away.
Location Call, write, or visit us in the new Heritage Center. 
Resources & Research Our library has been combined with the holdings of the Heritage Center, and is available to visitors. Research fee of $2.00 is waived for members. We have a large card file of obituaries, marriages, newspaper clippings regarding veterans, and burials; cemetery readings; surname files; five generation charts; newspaper abstracts for 1829 - 1841; LDS microfiche of documents related to Clark County, and family histories.  The Fisher Family Library and Archives holdings include old newspapers, original wills, biographical information, maps and plat books, and photographs.
