1817 in Herkimer County, NY. He was about 12 or 14 years old when he and
his family moved to Jefferson County. In the 1880's Nelson moved his
family to Texas.
He married on 1 Mar 1836
ANNA ELIZA GROAT, daughter of WILLIAM HENRY and RACHEL MANDIGOLE GROAT,
who was born 29 Apr 1817. They were the parents of four children.
