We are a group of amateurs with a common interest in learning and studying about our heritage.  There are no professionals among us - that we know of.  Since we began our website on-line at http://www.rootsweb.com/~nygags/index.htm, we have grown from approximately 30 members to about 100, located all over.

We publish a newsletter bi-monthly which is distributed to all our members, either by e-mail or regular mail.

We meet on the 3rd Tuesday of every month (except December and January) at 7:00 p.m. in the Richmond Library Conference Room.   The meetings usually last at the most until 9:00 pm when the library closes. At each of our meetings, we either have a guest speaker on various topics or our annual treat where our attending members tell everyone their best finding (or brick wall) during the year.  That meeting is usually extremely well-received.

Our membership year is from 1 July to 30 June the following year.  Our dues are $10.00 per year.  However, we have a special rate for the spouse of a member which is $5.00 per year.

In addition to our bi-monthly newsletter, a membership also provides the opportunity to add your family surnames to our Surname website at http://www.rootsweb.com/~nygags/surname.htm as well as our Surname Book which is passed around at every meeting.
