I understand that Portland is in Traill Co. If not, please correct me. In a local store I found a beautiful wedding certificate for Carl NYJORDET and Oline EGGE, both of Portland ND. It is in Danish, I believe. They were married on 12 April "og Tolv." The certificate is for sale by this store, and I can give you the details if you contact me. It is something I would want if it were my family involved.
Thanks,
Brenda

Seeking information on family of Loyal Bingham TURNELL who lived in Traill county during the 1890's.
Among children of the family were Edna, Max, Clara Belle(Elsie), Clayton, Della (born Hillsboro, 1896), and Miles.
Need to know the parentage of Loyal and where they had come from, if possible.
It is possible that several children were buried in Traill Coounty; a set of still born twins, a daughter, and a son.
Thank you

I would be interested in contact from people who are researching these surnames that came from Otterstadt, Rhineland-Pfalz, Germany and settled in the Reynolds area on both sides of the county line. The ACKERMANs, Flory and Schotthoefer settled on the Traill county side of Reynolds and ADAM on the Grand Forks county side of Reynolds. I am seeking descendants of Johannes (Johan) ADAM and Johanna SCHOTTHOEFER and their six children: Ferdinand and his wife Anna ACKERMAN, Jacob and his wife Catharina Hillenbrand, Joseph and his first wife,Frances Nuebauer, George and his wife Theresa Schaefer, Frances and her husband, Joseph SCHOTTHOEFER and Martin. Matthias FLORY and Frances SCHOTTHOEFER ACKERMAN and their eight children including Joseph ACKERMAN and his wife Anna Maria LEMMERICH. Henry LEMMERICH and his wife Johanna FLORY also came to his area is related to the above families. A total of 12 families came from Otterstadt and settled in the Reynolds area. Other families also included in this group from Otterstadt are ALLMARAS, WITZ, and BERTHOLD. The group came to Reynolds between 1880 and 1890 and many of the families in this group remained in the Reynolds area and others went on to Humboldt, SK, Canada, New Rockford, ND and St. Paul, MN. I am also interested in contact from others researching these names. The only family that is not in the original group from Otterstadt are the SCHUMACHERs, they are originally from Luxembourg and emigrated to Ozaukee County Wisconsin before coming to Traill and Grand Forks Counties about 1881. I am also interested in gaining more information on Barbara Erbach LEMMERICH, Joseph ACKERMAN's mother-in-law. She was alive as of the 1920 censsus for Buxton Township, Traill county, but I have been unable to locate a death date or burial place for her. She was 88 years old at the time of the census.
