My Grandmother's sister was Bertha Melby, a Norwegian immigrant who married Martin PEDERSON and lived in Hillsboro, ND. In 1901 they opened a bakery in Hillsboro (possibly in an old post office building?). I don't know how long they owned and operated the bakery but suspect it was for many years - I think they probably lived out their lives there. I'd like to find out more
about them and their family (if any).
If anyone has any information about them I'd really appreciate it if they would share it with me. Thanks in advance for any information.

I am wondering if there were a Lutheran Church in Belmont Township, Traill Co. before 1880? My great grandparents lived there and are on the census of 1880 as married. I understand
that there are no civil records from that time so I would like to find the church record. According to my father his grandmother's name was Lina (Lena) NESSETT. His grandfather was
Carl Christian Larson. I am also looking for their parent's names. There is one family of Nessetts in Traill in 1885 and also a family of Christian and Maren Larson which I think is correct but I want to be sure before it goes on my family tree.
Thanks, Elaine Hamm

Iver and Bertha Marie IVERSON emigrated from Solor, Osterdalen, Norway around 1862. We cannot trace their ancestors because we do not when and where they were born in Norway. Any help would be appreciated.

I am looking for information about Ole Severin Olstad, born Nov 6, 1852, baptized Mar 13, 1853 in Sollien church in Norway. Ole's name appears as a witness on my grandfather's naturalization papers. I can find no trace of Ole Severin Olstad in Norway after his baptism, but have seen an Ole Olstad listed on ND census records.
