This link retrieves a text file, taken from An Illustrated History of Yadkin
County 1850-1980, by William E. Rutledge, Jr. Subsequent research has shown
that many of the men on the list were not actually from Yadkin county,
although perhaps the regiments were formed there, and other Yadkin men who
joined regiments from other counties and states are omitted. Frances
Casstevens of the Yadkin County Genealogical Society is compiling a
revised list of Yadkin County veterans, and is willing to answer inquiries as
