Welcome!
My name is Denise Woodside and I am the county coordinator for Rockingham County's NCGenWeb page. This page is YOUR page and only as good as we can make it by working together. If you have any suggestions about items to add to this page, please let me know. Most importantly, if you have information available for posting to the internet or for doing lookups, please let me know so that I can share that information with other Rockingham County, NC researchers.
Rockingham County was established by a vote of the North Carolina General
Assembly on December 29, 1785 from the northern half of Guilford County.
Wentworth is the county seat. Other cities include:
Eden,
Madison,
Mayodan,
Reidsville, and
Stoneville. For more information, read
Rockingham County
History as posted on the Rockingham County Historical Society page.
Rockingham County is bound on the east by Caswell County, to the west by Stokes County, to the south by Guilford County, and to the north by the state of Virginia
