The Guilford County Genealogical Society, founded in 1974, is a non-profit organization of over 400 members nationwide, dedicated to genealogy and family history research, education and publication. Through its educational programs and publications, GCGS promotes interest in genealogy and standards of genealogical research. GCGS also promotes the collection and preservation of family records, manuscripts, documents and other genealogy materials. Although the primary focus of GCGS is Guilford County genealogy, many of GCGS's programs are of general interest to anyone interested in genealogy.
See the Events page for 2008 membership meeting dates and programs.
We are now including other genealogical events of interest on the Events page.
Visit our updated page of local research facilities and recent newsletters posted online for your convenience.
Don't forget to visit the contents list for back issues of our journal, "The Guilford Genealogist".
