Marjorie Tanton of Fredericton, NB, formerly of Woodstock, NB,
passed away at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Tuesday,
October 29, 2002. Survived by daughters Nancy Nicholson (David)
of Saint John and Ruth Holmes (Stephen) of Fredericton,
grandchildren Thomas Sutton (Rasha), Deah Sutton, Marjorie
Holmes, Charles Holmes, one great grandchild, Soraya Ruth Sutton.
Predeceased by brother Wallace Matheson. Resting at The Culberson
Funeral Home, 188 Connell Street, Woodstock, NB with visiting on
Saturday, November 2, 2002 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service
to be held on Sunday, November 3, 2002 at 2 p.m. from St. Luke's
Anglican Church, Woodstock, NB. Reception to follow at Parish
Hall. Interment to follow at the Christ Church Cemetery. If so

TAYLOR, VERNA AMY
Verna Amy Taylor of Woodstock, passed away at her home, September
16, 2002. Survived by children Nancy Herrick, Sharon Chase, Susan
Welch, Jack Taylor. Sisters, Ella Ellis, Gertrude MacMullin,
brothers Dalton, Wendell and Earl Hallett. 10 grandchildren and
four great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her
husband Russell Taylor, sisters Millicent, Pauline, brothers
Donald, Dean, Kenneth and Owen Hallett. Resting at The Culberson

THOMAS, INEZ MADELINE -
On July 12, 2002 at the Carleton Memorial Hospital, Woodstock,
NB, Inez Madeline Thomas, age 81, of Centreville, NB. She was
born in Gregg Settlement, NB. She is survived by three daughters,
Lucille Thomas of Centreville, Marlene Thomas of Toronto and Ann
(Ivan) Sobocan of Surrey, BC; two sons Allison (Elva) of
Fredericton and Harrison (Debra) of Woodstock; four grandchildren.
Predeceased by her husband Harold Thomas. Resting at Kilcollins
Chapel, Florenceville, with visitation Monday, 7-9 p.m. The
service will be held at Kilcollins Chapel, Florenceville on
Tuesday, July 16, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. with Ray Anderson officiating.
Interment at the Centreville United Baptist Church Cemetery.
Donations to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation would be
appreciated by the family.

Thomas, A. Pauline
With her loving family at her side, A. Pauline Thomas passed away
at her daughter's home in Woodstock, N.B. on October 29 2002,
after a courageous battle with cancer. Polly, as she was known to
her many friends, was born in Kirkland, N.B. She was the daughter
of the late J. Leslie Kennedy and Jenny (Anderson) Kennedy. Polly
was a graduate of Woodstock High School and the Provincial Normal
School, after which she worked in Edmundston, Brownsburg, Quebec
and Ottawa. She proudly served her country in WW II as a leading
W.R.E.N. in the Navy. It was during the war that she met her
husband, the late Charles H. Thomas, Member of Parliament for
Moncton from 1968 to 1974. Polly lived for over 50 years in
Moncton where she lovingly raised her three children, assisted
her husband in his business and political life and later
conducted a successful real estate sales career for several years.
She was an active member of the community and was involved in
several local service and volunteer groups. A member of the
Moncton Curlers Association for many years, Polly was an active
competitive curler, winning two provincial championships and
playing at the national level in the Diamond"D"
championships. An avid golfer, she was very proud of the hole- in-one
she shot in Myrtle Beach at the age of 80. She also competed at
the national level in lawn bowling. Polly loved to travel and
play bridge with her dear friends. She will be sadly missed by
her daughter Maggy Thomas Nadeau (J.P.) of Woodstock; sons Terry
(Wendy) of Woodstock and Tim (Patricia) of Riverview;
grandchildren, Michelle, Alison (Mario), Jennifer, Adam, Matthew,
Gilliane, Nathalie; sister-in-law, Joan Kennedy of Saint John and
several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was
predeceased by her husband Charles; brothers, Donald, Richard and
Thomas; sister, Mildred; and nephews, James and Leslie. Following
cremation, visitation will be held at Fair Haven Funeral Home (852-3530)
1177 Salisbury Road, Moncton on Friday November 1 from 7 to 9 pm.
Funeral service will be held in St Andrews Presbyterian Church,
Park Street, Moncton on Saturday November 2 at 11 am with a
reception to follow in the Church hall. Interment will follow in
Fairhaven Memorial Gardens Saturday at 1:30 pm. Donations may be

THORNTON, RONALD BENJAMIN
Of Woodstock passed away at Carleton Memorial Hospital in
Woodstock on Sunday, September 14, 2003, at the age of 70. Ronald
is survived by his wife Audrey; three sons, Stephen and his wife
Mardi; Gregory and his wife Ren\'e9e; Mark and his fianc\'e9e
Amy; grandchildren, Jessica; Adam; William; Benjamin and Adrienne
all of Woodstock, NB. He is also survived by one brother John
Vinel Thornton and his wife Hildred of Bobcaygeon, ON; several
nieces and nephews. Resting at The Scott Funeral Home, 815 Main
Street, Woodstock, NB, with visiting on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9
p.m. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. from
St. Luke's Anglican Church. The Venerable Walter Williams will be
officiating, assisted by Rev. Merrill Slipp, with interment in

Thrailkill, McGrath,
Kay
Kay McGrath Thrailkill, 82, of Hamilton and Missoula, passed away
Friday, Oct. 26, 2001, in Missoula at the Hillside Manor.
Kay was born on Jan. 25, 1919, in Waterville, New Brunswick,
Canada, the daughter
of Clyde and Catherine Shaw. Kay received her education in Canada, and
graduated from Normal College with her teaching certificate. She
taught in a one-room school in Canada, before serving two years
in the Royal Canadian Air Force. Following her military duty, she
moved to Seattle, Wash., where she met and later married Edward H.
McGrath on June 12, 1946, in Seattle. The couple lived in
Corvallis, Salt Lake City, Utah, and Denver, Colo., before
returning to Montana and settling in Hamilton. They owned and
operated the Ravalli Motel, retiring in 1971. Kay was a member of
St. Francis Catholic Church, was active with the Hamilton Eagles
Auxiliary, Golden Agers, and played in the Kitchen Band. She was
also a member of the Hamilton Senior Center and the Hamilton
Garden Club. She enjoyed her flower garden, doing needle point,
quilting and walking.
Ed preceded her in death on March 15, 1995, and she later married
William Thrailkill on Aug. 19, 1995. William preceded her in
death on Aug. 2, 1997. For the past three years she has resided
in Missoula in order to be near her family.
Survivors include her children, Tom and his wife Elizabeth
McGrath and sons Brian and Patrick all of Missoula, Rosemary and
her husband Bob Mannino and daughter Angela , all of Coral
Springs, Fla., and step-daughter, Dorothy and her husband George
Mangas of Billings.
A memorial mass will be celebrated, Wednesday, Oct. 31 at 11 a.m.
at St. Francis Catholic Church in Hamilton with Father John
Darragh as presider. Urn placement will follow at the Riverview
Cemetery in Hamilton.
The family suggests memorials to St. Francis Catholic Church, the
Golden Age Center, or Hamilton Senior Center. Arrangements are
under the care of the Daly-Leach Chapel in Hamilton.

TILESTON, Pauline E.
ABBOT, Pauline E. Tileston, 67, died May 31, 2000 at a Dover-Foxcroft
hospital. She was born January 10, 1933 in Bristol, New
Brunswick, Canada, daughter
of Ralph and Sarah (Shanks) Grant. She worked for many years for
Guilford of Maine and also loved selling Avon products. She
enjoyed knitting and taking care of her family.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Robert W. Tileston of
Abbot; a son and his wife James and Elizabeth Morin Sr. of
Parkman; a daughter and her husband, Patricia and Russell Todd of
Guilford; 6 grandchildren, Petie Morin, Linda Todd, Robert Todd,
Don Tibbetts, James Morin Jr. and Joshua Morin; 12 great
grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a
brother, LeRoy Grant and a sister, Beatrice Daggett.
Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 PM Friday at the Crosby & Neal
Funeral Home, 21 Oak St., Guilford. Graveside services will be
held 2:30 PM Saturday at the Pingree Center Cemetery in Parkman
with Pastor Daryl Witmer officiating.

TOMAH, LISA DAWN -
Of the Woodstock First Nation passed away at Carleton Memorial
Hospital on Saturday, July 26, 2003 at the age of 37. Lisa is
survived by her Husband Matthew Tomah, one daughter Courtney,
three sons Dakota, Matthew Jr. and Dallas. Her parents Rainnie
and Gloria (Wood) Smith. Three sisters Kim Smith of Oromocto, NB;
Lesley (Nathan) Ogden of Lansdowne, NB and Shelly (Dean) Lawrence
of Wicklow, NB. Mother and Father-in-law Raymond and Dianne Tomah.
Several nieces and nephews. Resting at The Scott Funeral Home,

TOMPKINS, F. Carvel
F. Carvel Tompkins, 89, passed away Sept 4, 1998, at the Lang
Lodge, Upper Woodstock. A funeral service was held Sept. 6.
from the Carleton Co-op Funeral Home with Minister Blair Tompkins
officiating. Mr. Tompkins was born Dec. 7, 1908, at Lansdowne,
son of Winfield Tompkins and Mabel (Foster) Corey. He was
predeceased by his wife, Lillian Greta Tompkins (Action), a
brother Alton, Washington D.C. half brothers Warren Corey Jr.,
Blaine, ME. and John Corey, Presque Isle, Me., a daughter Betty
Hughes, a grandson Anthony Troy, and a great-great grand daughter
Britny Kaye. He is survived by three daughters, a half sister, 14
grandchildren...
How Great Thou Art and the Old Rugged Cross were
sung during the service by Esther Kaye. Minister Blair
Tompkins sang I Don't Need to Understand, while playing the
guitar. Pallbearers were Blair Avery, Ian MacInnis, Lloyd
Bragdon, Paul Williams and Jamie Kitchen. Burial was in the

Florence P. Tompkins of Mount Pleasant, New Brunswick passed away
suddenly on January 19, 2002. She was born September 24, 1910 in
Maugerville, and was the daughter of the late Walter and Cora
Raymond. She is survived by her children, Irene Tompkins of Mount
Pleasant, NB, Jeannie MacDonald of Sydney, NS, Elda (Bob)
Sinclair of Moncton, NB, Raymond (Marilyn) Tompkins of Mount
Pleasant, NB, 8 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday at the funeral home and the funeral
service will be held on Monday at 1:00 p.m. from the Britton
Funeral Home Chapel, High Street, Hartland with Charles O'Reagan
officiating. Interment will be in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery at
a later date.

TRAFFORD, GERALD HORACE -
(1910-2002) Gerald H. Trafford of Tracey Mills, NB passed away at
the Northern Carleton Hospital in Bath, NB on Friday, January 11th,
2002 at the age of 91 surrounded by his family. Born in Long
Settlement, NB, he was the son of the late Horace and Elizabeth (Broadbent)
Trafford and husband of Reva (MacLeod) Trafford of Tracey Mills.
Gerald is survived by his wife Reva; four daughters: Darlene
DeVoe (Ray) of Princeton, ME, Ruth Dickinson (Dana) of Tracey
Mills, Verna MacLeod (John) of Williamstown, NB and Tammy
McIntosh (Ross) of Glassville, NB; seven sons: Tom (Joyce) of
Mars Hill, ME, Richard (Diane) of Tracey Mills, Donnie MacLeod of
Fredericton, NB, Jerry (Jane) of Osgoode, ON, Larry (Holly) of
Tracey Mills, Jefforey of Toronto, ON and Anthony of Fredericton;
sister Leota Banks of Williamstown; 33 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his first wife Donna (Graham) Trafford; son
Troy; sister Ruth Trafford and brother Stanley. The family
received visitors at Kilcollins Funeral Chapel, Florenceville, NB
on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-9 PM. The Funeral Service will be held
from the Tracey Mills United Baptist Church today at 2:00 PM with
Pastor Bob Allaby officiating, assisted by Pastor Dan Jamer and
Pastor Andrew Drier. Pall Bearers will be: Victor Trafford,
Thomas Trafford Jr., Steven Trafford, Todd MacLeod, Cedric
MacLeod and Mathew MacLeod. Following the service, interment will
take place at the Tracey Mills United Baptist Cemetery. In lieu

United Baptist Church, Shiktehawk Bible Camp or the Canadian
Cancer Society.

Passed away at the Carleton Memorial Hospital in Woodstock, on
October 16, 2003. She was 84. Florence Trail, of Woodstock, was
born in Nortondale to the late Albion and Laura (Sharpe) Hallett.
She is survived by her children - Leona Porter (Richard) of
Newbridge, NB, Doris Cole (Gary Morgan) of Woodstock, NB, Perely
Trail (BernaLee) of Temperancevale, NB, Chester (Virginia) Trail
of Nackawic, NB, and Gerald Trail of Temperancevale, NB, one
sister - Emma McIntosh (Lorne) of Clarkville, NB, nine
grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and
nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph Trail, two
grandsons - Dana and James, two sisters - Luella Prosser and Mary
McIntosh, and one brother - Earl. Resting at the Carleton Funeral
Home, 337 Lockhart Mill Road, Jacksonville, NB, where friends may
call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Friday, October 17, 2003. Funeral
service will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2003 to 2:00 p.m.

TWEEDIE, Walter
Walter TWEEDIE - Hartland, Jan 11th (1928). Word has been
received here of the death at Mars Hill, Maine of Walter TWEEDIE,
after an illness of two weeks with pneumonia. The late Mr.
TWEEDIE was a former Carleton County man. He leaves a wife and 12
children, three of whom are married and all of Westfield, Maine.
Elder F.W. BARTON conducted the services and R.W. WIGHT was
funeral director. The burial service was conducted by the
Oddfellows. Four brothers, Joseph, Frank, William and Hugh
TWEEDIE were pall bearers. Many relatives from out of town were
in attendance, among them being George CURRIE of Saint John, who
is a brother-in-law. The flowers were beautiful and numerous.
