MACDONALD, NORMAN GEORGE
On February 5, 2004 at the Carleton Memorial Hospital at
Woodstock, NB, Norman George MacDonald of Woodstock, NB, born
April 9, 1934 to Oscar MacDonald and the late Edna (Nixon)
Macdonald. Survived by his wife Fern (Beck) MacDonald, Woodstock,
NB, his father Oscar MacDonald, Woodstock, NB, brother Raymond (Shirley)
Woodstock, NB Daughters, Brenda Hutton (Rob) Yellowknife, Amy
MacDonald, Benton, NB, Jill MacDonald, Halifax, NS, a son Trevor
MacDonald, Woodstock, NB, five grandchildren and several nieces
and nephews. Predeceased by his mother Edna in 1998. Friends may
call at the Carleton Funeral Home, 337 Lockhart Mill Road,
Jacksonville, NB on Sunday, February 8 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, February 9 at 2;00 p.m.

MACINTOSH, LORNE J.
Passed away Thursday, October 16, 2003 at the Carleton Memorial
Hospital in Woodstock. He was 85. Lorne MacIntosh of Clarkville,
N.B., was born on March 21, 1918 to the late John and Bessy (Carpenter)
MacIntosh. He is survived by his wife, Emma (Hallett) MacIntosh;
four children Allison MacIntosh (Marion) of Clarkville, N.B.,
Lorraine Cook (Harland) of Fredericton, N.B., Phyllis Spencer (Gary)
of Fredericton and Linda Parlee (Beverly) of Sussex; two sisters,
Evelene Bustard and Myrna Pomeroy; 11 grandchildren, 13 great
grandchildren. He was predeceased by one brother, John MacIntosh;
one sister, Vera Sewell and one infant great granddaughter,
Courtney. Resting at the Carleton Funeral Home, 337 Lockhart Mill
Road, Jacksonville, N.B., where friends may call from 3:30 - 5:30
and 7-9 on Saturday October 18, 2003. Funeral service will be
held on Sunday October 19, 2003 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Wayne Blinn
officiating. Interment will be in the Woodstock Rural Cemetery.

MACKAY, W. ELWOOD W. Elwood MacKay of 171 St. James Street,
Woodstock, NB, on Thursday, October 2, 2003 at the Carleton
Memorial Hospital in his 97th year. He is predeceased by his wife
Mary "Jo" Josephine MacKay (1998). Survived by
daughters Mary MacKay Leland of Sussex, NB and Anne Hicks (Neville)
of Erin, Ontario. Grandchildren Michael, Angela, Stacy. Great
grandchildren Robbie, Jason, Michael, Rachel. Sister-in-law
Evelyn MacKay, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers Paul,
Vernon, Claude, John MacKay. Resting at The Culberson Funeral

MacMILLAN, DOREEN MARY -
Doreen Mary MacMillan of Benton passed away December 16, 2003 at
Carleton Memorial Hospital. Born at Woodstock on September 29,
1958, she was a daughter of the late Hazen and Mary (McGann)
MacMillan. Doreen is survived by her sister and lifelong
caregiver, Doris MacMillan, Benton; a brother, David MacMillan (Marilyn),
Rossville; a niece, Jodi MacMillan, Halifax, NS; a nephew, Peter
MacMillan, Halifax, NS; two aunts; an uncle and several cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister,
Barbara MacMillan. Resting at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis
Drive, Nackawic with visiting hours Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7
to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at St. Mary's Anglican
Church, Benton on Thursday, Dec. 18, 2003 at 2 p.m. Rev. Jane
Arnott officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary's Anglican

MacMILLAN, HELEN M. -
Helen M. MacMillan of Woodstock passed away on Sunday, September
14, 2003 in Northampton, NB. She was 86. She was predeceased by
her husband Donald, two daughters Winnifred Marsten, Joyce
Gallagher and two sons Archibald and Merlin, sisters Elva Dow and
Phyllis Swim, brothers Ronald, Guy, Harley, and Hazen Furrow. She
is survived by a daughter Bertha (Edward) Fredericks of Dead
Creek, 14 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, 3 great great
grandchildren, sister Velma (Burton) Fraser of Saint John and
Pearl Johnson of Canterbury, brothers, Donald (Jean) Furrow of
Saint John, Lester (Sonya) Furrow of Canterbury, nieces and
nephews. Visitation was held on Monday at the Culberson Funeral
Home 188 Connell Street, Woodstock. The funeral service will be
on Tuesday at 2:00pm from Saint Mary The Virgin Anglican Church
in Benton with Rev. Jane Arnott officiating. Interment will be in
the adjoining Anglican Cemetery.

Helen Mary (Keenan) Mahoney JOHNVILLE, NB- Helen Mary (Keenan)
Mahoney, peacefully at her home in Johnville, NB, on December 17,
2001, Helen Mary Mahoney passed away of the age of 82. Born in
Johnville, March 25, 1919. She was the daughter of the late Harry and
Mary Sweeney Kennan.
Survived by three daughters, Mary Lou Mahoney of Saint John,
Catherine Mahoney of Fredericton, Evelyn (Bob) Pierce of Saint
John; one son Michael Mahoney of Johnville; two grandchildren
Christopher and Sarah Pierce; seven sisters, Kay (Tom) Courtney
of Montreal, Marie Gallagher of Fredericton, Lillian (Jim) Bibby
of Bellville, ON, Evelyn (Al) Catterson of Ottawa, Bea (Jim) Ross
of Ottawa, Monica Jurosky of California and Joan (Bob) Kenny of
Fredericton; two brothers, Rob (Marg) Keenan of Whites Cove and
Avery Keenan of Moncton; sisters-in-law, Irene Keenan of
Woodstock, Mary Keenan of Woodstock, Irene Keenan of Fredericton,
Beatrice Mahoney of Fredericton; several nieces and nephews and
cousins. Predeceased by her parents; beloved husband Daniel
Mahoney; brothers, Alvin, Henry, Frank and Fred Keenan; a sister
Olga Hewitt. Resting at Kilcollins Funeral Home, 31 Hospital St.

Of Bristol, NB, passed away August 1, 2002, at the Northern
Carleton Hospital, Bath, NB, at the age of 81. Born in Ireland,
she is survived by 3 daughters, Pam Manuel of Bristol, Joan (Donald)
Clark of St. Stephen and Geraldine (Darrell) Bradstreet of
Bristol, 3 sisters, Ruby Hathaway of Aroostook, Jennie (Harry)
Smith of Bath and Lilly Donahue of Edmonton, AB, 6 grand children
and 7 great grandchildren. Resting at Kilcollins Chapel, 18
Station Rd., Florenceville (278-3238), with visiting on Saturday,
2-4 and 7-9 pm. Service to be held at Kilcollins Chapel,
Florenceville, on Sunday at 1:00 pm with Rev. Les Johnston
officiating. Interment will be in Bristol Community Cemetery.

MARKEY, ANNIE
Annie Markey of Hartford was held November 30 from her late
residence to St. Gertrude's Church, Woodstock, where High Mass of
Requiem was celebrated by Rev. D. S. Gilles.
Mrs. Markey was born at Hartford, only child of the late
Cornelius and Susan (McGirr) Gallagher. She was eighty-eight
years old and had resided at Hartford all her life. Her
husband predeceased her seventeen years ago. She was a
member of the Catholic Women's League.
Surviving are eight sons, Murray, Earl and John at home; Robert
and Edward at Hartford; Basil, Lindsay; Lewis and Wilfrid,
Bridgeport, Connecticut and three daughters , Mrs. Wm. Callnan (Susie),
Houlton, Me.; Mrs. Wm. Campbell (Annie), Lakeville and Mrs.
Charles Fewer (Helen), Avondale. Three other daughters
predeceased her, Mary, Margaret and Ada. Also surviving are
forty-two grandchildren and thirty-two great grandchildren.
Interment was in Calvary Cemetery.

MARKEY, GERALD F. -
It is with sadness that the family of Gerald Markey announces his
sudden passing at his home in Nanaimo, B.C. on December 3, 2003.
Born in Woodstock, N.B. on May 23, 1939, Gerald was the son of
the late Edward and Helen (Corcoran) Markey. He leaves to mourn
his spouse, Angie, his son, Shawn and grandchildren, all of B.C.,
one sister Marie (Norman) Perry of Shelburne, N.S., three
brothers Henry (Louise) of Montreal, Joseph (Lois) and Richard (Linda)
of Woodstock, N.B., an aunt Helen Fewer, two uncles Basil and
Earl Markey, several nieces and nephews, and numerous cousins. An
infant brother, Donald, predeceased him. A visitation with the
family in Gerald's memory will be held Sunday, December 7, 2003
at the Carleton Funeral Home in Jacksonville, N.B. between 3:30-5:30
p.m.. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations
to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Matthew Markey of Hartford, Carleton County, aged 88 years passed
away recently at his home after an illness of 18 months. He
was born at Richiboucto, Kent County, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward
Markey. He is survived by his wife, formerly Miss Annie
Gallagher of Hartford; two daughters, Mrs. William Callnan,
Houlton, Me.; Mrs. William Campbell and Mrs. Charles fewer of St.
Thomas; and eight sons, John, Edward, Robert, Wilfrid, Earle,
Murry, and Basil of Hartford and Lewis of Houlton, Me. The
funeral was held from his late residence to St. Gertrude's
Church, Woodstock, where Requiem High Mass was celebrated by Very
Rev. J. R. McCarthy. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery.

MAVOR, GEORGE DOUGLAS -
Passed away at the Carleton Manor in Woodstock, N.B. on June 15,
2003 at the age of 87. George D. Mavor of Woodstock was born on
July 22, 1915 to the late George and Mary (Miller) Mavor. He is
survived by two special friends, Norma Cole and Orin DeLong of
Woodstock, N.B., one sister, Edith McLellan of Ontario, and one
nephew, David (Elsie) Pickett of Ontario. Funeral Service will be
held on Wednesday, June 18, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. from the St.
George Anglican Church in Bairdsville, N.B., Rev. John Mills will
be officiating. Internment will take place in the adjoining
cemetery. Carleton Funeral Home has been entrusted with the

MCALLISTER, RONALD GEORGE Ronald George McAllister, of Richmond
Corner passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2002, at the age of 48.
Ronnie is survived by his beloved wife Wanda (Stairs) McAllister;
one daughter, Jennifer Anderson and her husband Corey of
Waterville, NB; one son Peter McAllister and his friend Barbie of
Woodstock, NB; His parents, Ronald and Maye (Lewis) McAllister of
Richmond Corner, NB; one brother Dana McAllister and his wife
Ruth of Kennebunk, Maine; two sisters, Leisa Corey and her
husband Clifford of Peel, NB; Ethel McAllister of Woodstock, NB;
one granddaughter, Tamara Maye Anderson; several nieces and
nephews. He was predeceased by one brother Keith McAllister.
Ronnie was an avid boater and enjoyed spending time at the family
camps. He was fun loving, and enjoyed playing cards, and a good
prank. He was also the best father and grandfather who could
always make you laugh. He will always have a special place in the
hearts of his children. Resting at The Scott Funeral Home, 815
Main Street, Woodstock, NB. No Public visitation, by request of

Laura (Bryden) McLellan, and wife of the late Walter McBride. Survived
by children Barbara (Ronald) Hallett, Mary (Willard) Davidson,
Richard (Marie) McBride; Six grandchildren, six great

MCBRINE, ANNIE M.(LOVELY)
General sorrow was felt at the passing of Mrs. Fred R. McBrine of
Glassville which occured at her home on Sunday morning June1,
1952 following a period of ill health. Mrs. McBrine was formerly
Miss Annie M. Lovely, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. James Lovely. She was born June 7, 1901 at
Glassville and had lived all her life there. Surviving are her
husband and two daughters, Mrs. Stanley Whitehouse, Glassville
and Marion at home; her father and mother, Mr.& Mrs., James
Lovely of Glassville; one grandson Robert Whitehouse; one sister,
Mrs. Everett Bishop, Presque Isle, Me; ,three brothers, Norris of
New York , William of Intervale, Me. And Arlie at home. Another
sister, Mrs. Floyd Bishop predeceased her several years ago. The
funeral which was largely attended, was held in the United Church
of Canada on Tuesday afternoon conducted by Rev. H.B. O\'92Brien,
assisted by Rev. Hollis Kimball at the prayer service in the home.
Music was rendered by a quartet of Mrs. Weldon Flemming, Miss
Gretchen Patrick, Wallace Matheson, and L.E. Britton, with Mrs.
William McIntosh as organist. The selections chosen were "God
Will Take Care of You," Beautiful Isle of Somewhere,"
and "Sweetly Resting." Pallbearers were Morrill and
Harold Robinson, Thomas and Claude Corey, James Miller and James
Hovey. Floral remembrances were many and beautiful. Interment was
in the adjoining cemetery.

MCCAFFREY, GERALD LAWRENCE
The death of Gerald McCaffrey of Woodstock, NB., husband of Helen
(Ivey) McCaffrey, occurred on April 1, 2002 at the Carleton
Memorial Hospital. He was 66. Born in Oromocto on May 14, 1935,
the son of the late Mary (Holleran) and Thomas McCaffrey. He
started his career with Canada Post delivering newspapers from
his Aunt Maude's General Store and progressing to Postmaster in
Oromocto and then served in Chatham, Fredericton and Woodstock
until his retirement in 1990. He was the last Post Master of the
Woodstock Post Office. He spent his retirement camping and
hunting "out at Golden Ridge", attending bluegrass
festivals and promoting the bands Carleton Country and Carleton
Bluegrass. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Branch No.
2234, the Bluegrass Association and the Carleton County Amateur
Radio Club. Until his illness, he was an active member of St.
Gertrude's Catholic Church serving as Eucharist Minister and in
the Hospitality Ministry. He served as an Auxiliary member of the
RCMP while in Oromocto. Besides his wife Helen, he is survived by
his former wife, Christine McCaffrey and their six children,
Linda (Daniel) Burke, Lincoln, Rosemary McCaffrey, Douglas,
Monica McCaffrey, New Maryland, Larry (Kim) McCaffrey, Central
Blissville, Heather (Reginald) Denny, Lincoln and Michael (Rosselyne)
McCaffrey, Burton; step-children, Beverley (Ken) Crouse, Calgary,
Alberta and Lori MacLean, McKenzie Corner; 11 grandchildren,
Jamie, Jessica, Jennifer, Corey, Joshua, Jordan, Justin, Shelby,
Dylan, Allison and Benjamin; five step grandchildren, Tanya,
Joel, Beth, Christopher and Meghan; three step great
grandchildren; sisters, Eleanor (Dr. Marcel) Brzak, Fredericton
and Betty (Tom) Gilbert, Burton; brother, Arthur (Betty)
McCaffrey, Oromocto and chosen brother, Charlie (Diana) Holleran,
Burton; many cousins, nieces and nephews. Visitation will take
place at the Carleton Funeral Home Co-operative, Lockhart Mill
Road, Jacksonville, N.B. on Tuesday 7-9 pm, Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9
pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday at 11:00 am with Father
Samuel Diotte officiating at St. Gertrude's Catholic Church,
Woodstock, NB. Interment at a later date at Calvary Cemetery. The

The
death of Joseph E. McCready of Bristol occurred on September 2nd
at Rest Haven Nursing Home at Jacksonville. He was born at
Johnville, Carleton County and was the son of the late
Dennis and Marie (Pelletier) McCready. Prior to
his illness he was engaged in farming.
He is survived by his wife the former Kathleen Gallagher, 3 sons:
Ronald of Dalhousie, Arnold and Norman at home; 4 daughters:
Mrs. Armon Lester of Mississippi, Mrs. Duncan Collins, Arkansas,
Mrs. Harold Aebly, Texas, and Marlene at home; 2 sisters Mrs.
Myles Sullivan and Mrs. Mary Gillespie, and 7 grandchildren.
The funeral was held from St. John Evangelist Church. Interment took
place in Johnville Cemetery.

Vancouver Hospital August 22nd, 1935, Mrs. John McCready passed
away, aged 66 years. Formerly of Bath, N.B. until 25 years
ago she moved to Vancouver. Besides her husband she leaves
to mourn three sisters, Mrs. T. F. McCready, Vancouver, Rev. Sr.
Mary de Paul, Seattle, Mrs. M. H. Gallivan, Calbas, Alberta; two
brothers, Jarvis Ryan, Bellingham, Wash., and Martin J. Ryan,
Cloverdale, B.C. The funeral was held to St. Joseph's
Church, Vancouver. The Requiem Mass was sung by Rt. Rev.

McCULLOUGH - Recently at Mineral, N.B., beautiful and
useful life was brought to a close by the death of Marion
Elizabeth, beloved wife of Harold McCullough. She was well
known and had the love and respect of all. Mrs. McCullough
had been in failing health for the past year, but bore her
suffering with the greatest patience possible. She had been
a good wife, a kind and loving mother. She leaves to mourn
her husband, seven small children, her mother, Mrs. Margaret
Pierce of Moose Mountain, and other relatives, among whom she
will be sadly missed. A Requiem High Mass was sung by Rev.
S. Oram in St. John the Evangelist Church, Johnville.
Interment was in Johnville Cemetery.

McDOUGALL, RONALD LEIGH -
Ronald Leigh McDougall, age 75, of Bristol, NB, died on Saturday,
July 13, 2002, at Northern Carleton Hospital, Bath. Ronnie was a
WWII Veteran, an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion #37,
a volunteer firefighter and on the Beautification Committee for
the village of Bristol. He is survived by his wife, Desta; two
sons, John (Gloria) of Connell, NB, and Alan of Alberta; one
daughter, Ruth (Gerald) Remming of Trail, BC, and four
grandchildren. Visitation will take place on Tuesday 2-4 pm and 7-9
pm at Kilcollins Funeral Home, Bath. Funeral Service will be held
at Kilcollins Chapel, Bath., on Wednesday, July 17, 2002 at 1 pm,
with Rev. Les Johnston officiating. Cremation to take place

Verna McGann of Grafton, NB passed away at Carleton Manor in
Woodstock on Wednesday, December 17, 2003, at the age of 84. She
is survived by one son Malcolm (Madeline) McGann of Woodstock;
one sister Gwendolyne (Basil) Belyea of Grafton; three
grandchildren Sheri McGann of Woodstock; Heather (Jim) McHatten
of Woodstock; Stephanie (Aaron) Bubar of Hartland; seven great

and Matthew; several nieces and nephews. Verna was predeceased by

Bernard McGuire, formerly of Johnville, died at his home in
Newburg, where he has resided for 12 years, on April 7th, after a
short illness, age 82 years. His wife died about eight years ago.
He is survived by eight children, three boys and five girls, all
living in the United States. The funeral was held on April 10th,
conducted by Rev. Father Hayes, with burial in the Newburg
cemetary. A son-in-law, James McGinnis, of Fredericton, attending
the funeral. The pall bearers were four nephews, Nicholas, Hugh,

Funeral Mass was celebrated at St.Gertrudes Church by Rev. Ed
Walsh on Monday, March 3, 1986, for Dorothy Mary McGuire,
65, who died Feb. 28 at Carleton Memorial Hospital. Entombment
was in the Lions Community Vault, with burial to take place in
Calvary Cemetary in the spring. Pallbearers were Archie
Glanville, Edward Cunningham, Joseph T. McGuire, Waldo Shaw, Paul
Campbell and George Sharkey. Born in Woodstock, the daughter of James and Jennie (Crabbe)
Mcguire,
she lived in Woodstock most of her life. She resided at Carleton
Manor and was a member of the Catholic Women's League and the
Forever Young Club. She is survived by three brothers, Clayton,
Woodstock, John, New York, and Ronald, Toronto. Several
nieces and nephews also survive.

McGUIRE, James Arthur
The community was shocked and saddened on Saturday morning, March
15th to learn that James McGuire of Newburg, had passed away very
suddenly at his camp near Fredericton Junction where he had been
taking charge of a lumber crew. Death was caused by a hemmorage
to the brain. The deceased had been up to his home the previous
weekend and at that time was in the very best of health.
Surviving are his wife and four children. Clayton, who had been
working with his father; John, who is attending Woodstock High
School, and Ronald and Dorothy at home; also five brothers, Murry
and Harold, residing in Newburg; Louis, Wilfred and Perley,
Boston, Mass; one sister, Mrs. Richard Sullivan of Milo, Maine.
The remains were interred in St.Joseph 's Cemetary, Newburg, High
Mass of Requiem being sung by the pastor, Rev. Father F. Carney,
accompanied by the choir, under the direction of Mrs. Dennis
Johnston. A large number of floral tributes and spiritual
offerings were received, among them a gift of flowers from the
teachers and pupils of Woodstock High School.
Despite the severe weather the church was filled to capacity.
Those attending from abroad were Mr. and Mrs. Roy Crabbe and Mrs.
Donald Crabbe, Houlton; Mrs. John Rush and son Donald; Mrs.
Cormier, Saint John; Mr. Richard Crabbe, Debec ; Messrs. Louis,
Wilfred and Perley McGuire, Boston, and Mrs. Richard Sullivan,
Milo, Maine. The pall-bearers were Maurice MacGillicuddy, Dennis
Johnston, Hugh Johnston, Peter Gallagher, Joseph Cunningham,
Thomas McGuire.

A Mass of the Resurrection was offered by Rev. Bernard McMahon at
St. Gertrudes's Church on Feb.7 for Jennie Angus McGuire, 71,
window of the late James A.McGuire, who died Feb.4 at the
Carleton Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Lessons were
read by the Rev. Roy B. Evans. Entombment was in the Community
Vault, with burial to take place at the Calvary Cemetary in the
spring. The pallbears were Kenneth Karnes, Eugene Bowlin, Arch
Glanville, Leo Culbert, Edward Cunningham and Joseph McGuire. Mrs.
McGuire, a retired RNA, was born in Debec, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Richard Crabbe,
and lived in Woodstock most of her life. She resided on Division
Street, and was a member of the CWL. She is survived by three
sons,Clayton of Woodstock, John of New York, Ronald of Toronto;
one daughter Dorothy at home; three brothers, Roy Crabbe of
Hartford,Conn; Donald of Houlton, Me.; and Clayton, of Elmwood;
one sister, Mrs. Elsie Kallengurg, of Calais, Me.; several

McGUIRE, John McGuire
The death occurred on June 6th at his home in Newburg of John
McGuire, aged 74 years, 5 months. Six years ago deceased suffered
a paralytic stroke which he bore with fortitude and patience, and
was able to be around until a few days before his death. He was
born and lived all his life on the homestead on which he died,
and will be greatly missed as he was a generous and loving father.
He is survived by his wife , who was the former Mary Flemming of
Canterbury, six sons, James of Woodstock, Murray, Harold and
Wilfred at home, Louis, teaching school, and Perley, attending
Fredericton Business College, and one daughter, Mrs. R. S.
Sullivan of Houlton; two brothers, Thomas and Bernard; one
sister, Mrs. M. Burke, all of Newburg. The funeral was held on
Thursday morning, with high mass of requiem, which was largely
attended. His six sons were pall bearers.

McGUIRE, Mrs.Mary
Mrs. Mary McGuire passed away at her home in Newburg on
Tuesday,February 13, after a two week illness of pneumonia. Her
passing came as a great shock to her many relatives and friends,
who will keenly mourn her death. The late Mrs. McGuire was a
woman of sterling qualities, a kind mother, and very charitable
to all. She was born at Canterbury, N.B. on March 7 1860 a daughter of the late Patrick
and Elizabeth Flemming. She leaves to mourn six sons and one daughter.
The sons are, James. Murry, and Harold at home, Lewis and Wilfred
of Quincey, Mass., and Mrs. Richard Sullivan of Caribou,
Maine; also a brother and a sister, Thomas and Mrs. Ellen
Cavender of Canterbury,N.B. and many nephews and nieces, Rev. M.T.
Johnston of Riverside is a nephew of deceased. The funeral was
held on Friday February 16, at St. Joseph's Church where
High Mass of Requiem was sung by Rev. Joseph Ward. The pall
bearers were her six sons. Interment in St. Joseph's Cemetary.

Clayton Paul McGuire of Woodstock, NB, passed away at the
Veterans Health Center in Fredericton on Sunday, May 11th, 2003.
Clayton was born in Woodstock, NB on November 17, 1919. He is
survived by his wife, Irene (Sharkey) McGuire, sons James H.
McGuire of Fredericton, Gerald (Shirley) McGuire, daughters
Shirley Ann (Robert) Wilson, and Sharon (David) Webb of Woodstock.
Six grandchildren, David McGuire, Ottawa, Angela and Sara McGuire
of Fredericton, Mary Jane and Megan McGuire, and Jason Wilson, of
Woodstock. Brothers, John (Natalie) McGuire, of Gaithersburg M.D.
and Ronald McGuire of Wilberforce, Ontario. Several nieces and
nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, James A. McGuire and
Jennie (Crabbe) McGuire and sister, Dorothy McGuire. Clayton
served his country from 1940 to 1946 with the Number Two Tank
Troop of the Royal Electrical Mechanical Engineers attached to
the Fourth Armored Division. After the war he returned to
Woodstock, married and moved to Campbellton, NB for six years,
returning in 1955, where he worked as a mechanic, eventually
operating his own service station until his retirement. He was a
past president and life member of the Royal Canadian Legion,
Woodstock Branch # 11, and a member of the Army, Navy and Air
Force Veterans Woodstock Branch # 95. He served for fifty years
as a member of the Knights of Columbus # 2234, as past Grand
Knight, Fourth Degree Member, and past Faithful Navigator. He
also served on Woodstock Town Council for six years. Resting at
the Culberson Funeral Home, 188 Connell St., Woodstock, N.B. (325-1130).
Visiting hours on Tuesday, May 13, 2003, 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral
services will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2003 at 2 PM from St.

McINTOSH, FRASER JOHN -
Fraser John McIntosh (May 3, 1917-December 30, 2003) at the
Carleton Memorial Hospital, Woodstock. Husband of sixty years to
Edith (Hanson) and a life long resident of Bath, other than time
spent teaching on Deer Island (where he met Edith) and in
military service during WWII. Employed for many years by the
NBEPC during the construction of the Beechwood and Mactaquac dams
and for several years by the Dept. of Municipal Affairs in
Woodstock giving him an extensive knowledge of the Saint John
River Valley from Grand Falls to Fredericton. Fraser enjoyed a
life-long interest of the history of New Brunswick, especially
its small communities, rivers and forests, and was a life-time
breeder of purebred Hereford cattle. Fraser is survived by his
wife Edith, daughters, Margaret (Frank) Ashe of Rothesay and Ann
McIntosh of St. Andrews, son John of Kenneth, granddaughters,
Ellen and Erin Ashe, sisters Jennie Lockhart of Madison, WI,
Alice Blake of Nash Creek, NB, Ernestine Trenholm of Port Elgin,
NB and Murray, KY, and Eva Wetmore of Murray, KY, sister-in-law
Mildred McIntosh of Florenceville, several nieces, nephews and
cousins. Predeceased by his parents John K. and Mabel (Dalling)
McIntosh, sister, Mary Estey, brother, Malcolm and infant son

John (Jack) Keith McKay of New Maryland, NB, passed away suddenly
on March 10, 2003 at the age of 63. Following graduation from
Canterbury High School, Jack join the Canadian Navy where he
travelled extensively. Jack retired from the Civil Service in
2000. He is survived by his loving wife Hilary; brothers Kenneth

The death of Edward J. McSheffery of Ridgewood Veteran's Wing
occurred at his residence on Monday, December 21, 1998. Mr.
McSheffery was born at Bath, a son of the late Edward and
Margaret (Crain) McSheffery. He had attended school in Bath
before joining the Royal Canadian Army where he served overseas
during the Second World War. Following the war he resided
in Saint John where he had been employed as a machinist. He
was a former member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 14.
He is survived by his wife, the former Josephine T. Shepherd; one
son Joseph E. of Winnipeg; one daughter Sonja Marie Harrison of
Campbell River, B.C.; one sister Martina, Mrs. Arthur Morris of
Saint John, and several nieces and nephews. Resting at
Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo Street, from where the
funeral will be held on Wednesday morning at 11:45 to the
Cathedral of Immaculate Conception for Mass of Christian Burial
at 12:00. Interment will take place in Field of Honour in

companion Joyce Paul and her family of Florenceville; his

of Saint John. He is also survived by his step-mother Cecelia

07/01/2002 MCNELLY, RAYMOND CLIFFORD Ray C. McNelly was born in
the Canterbury area on April 24, 1918 and lived there all his 84
years until his death at his home on June 29, 2002. He was the
son of the late Lottie Mae (Wright) McNelly and George Blair
McNelly. Ray was one of the kindest, gentlest, mischievous,
ingenious characters that you could ever hope to meet. He was the
best dad ever, a one of a kind man and second to none. The
twinkle in his eye, good natured teasing, easy-going manner,
friendliness and storytelling will be remembered and treasured by
those lucky enough to have crossed his path. It was an uplifting
experience to spend time in his company. Ray is survived by his
daughter Barb McNelly and her husband Charles Schriver of
Nackawic; several cousins, nieces and nephews. His wife, the
former Mabel Stover predeceased him in February of 1984. Resting
at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic with
visiting hours Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service
will be held from the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, July 2,

McSHEFFERY - The death of Mrs. Margaret McSheffery, occurred at
her home in Johnville, October 13th, at the age of 78 years.
She leaves to mourn four sons, John of B.C., Edward, William and
Daniel at home. Five daughters, Rev. Sr. Martina of
Alberta, who was unable to arrive until Oct. 20, Rev. Sr. M.
Clementia of Moncton, who was with her mother at the time of her
death, Mrs. Peter McCullough of Johnville, Mrs. Joseph Eggleston
of Lynn, and Mabel McSheffery, R.N. of Boston, who has cared for
her mother during her illness. Also three brothers,
Timothy, John, and Daniel Dugan of Johnville. Six sisters,
Mrs. Hannah Pickard and Miss "Bridgie" Dugan of
Johnville, misses Catherine and Johannah Dugan, Mrs. S. J.
McNichol all of Lynn, Mrs. James Crabbe, Debec, N.B., who were
all present at her death bed. Requiem Mass was celebrated
at Johnville by Rev. S. Oram. Prayers at the grave were
said by Fathers S. Oram and Hennebry. The pallbearers were
her six grandsons, Harold, Joseph, Owen and Alphonsus McCullough,
Wilfred and Edward McSheffery.

the Northern Carleton Hospital in Bath, NB. She was 80. Isabell (Hovey)
McWaid of Williamstown, NB, was born on October 12, 1921 in
Argyle, NB to the late William and Cedelia (Wilson) Hovey. She is
survived by two brothers - Claude Hovey of Gary, NB and Gordon
Hovey (Joan) of Ottawa; one sister-inlaw Margaret Wilson of
Stanley, NB and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased
by her husband Allen McWaid, three brothers - Charles Hovey,

The death of Horace Wintfield Mean, husband of Maisie (Wilson)
Mean, occurred on Monday, July 22, 2002 at the Dr. Everett
Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born in Coldstream, New Brunswick, he
was the son of the late Horace and Mabel (Shaw) Mean. Horace was
a self-employed forestry contractor and was an extraordinary
Christian and lover of the Word of God. In addition to his wife,
Horace is survived by his son Elwood Mean and his wife Faith of
Lincoln; step-daughter Beth Hatt and her husband David of St.
George; brothers Hilton Mean and his wife Peggy of Hartland, and
John Mean and his wife Nilah of Dartmouth; a sister Marjorie
Kraftcheck and her husband Stanley of Hamilton, ON; seven
grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; six great grandchildren;
and several nieces and nephews. Horace was predeceased by his
first wife Grace (Davis) Mean; two daughters Wanda Drost and
Marion (Neatzie) Thomson; and one sister Anna Carter. Visitation
will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Dr., on
Tuesday from 7 to 9pm and Wednesday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 25 at 2 pm
from the Sunset Pentecostal Church, Clements Drive. Pastor Joe

Allen Tucker, six brothers Thomas and Leon of Edmundston, Julien

Mrs Anna G. Miller, 81 of 341 Deering Ave (Portland, Maine) died
yesterday afternoon (Sunday, January 15, 1978) in a local
hospital after a long illness. She was born in Holmesville, N.B.,
daughter
of Cornelius and Catherine Pierce Sullivan [of Moose Mountain Settlement (Johnville)]. Mrs. Miller attended New
Brunswick schools, came to Maine as a young girl and lived
locally most of her life with the exception of several years in
Long Beach, California.
She was a communicant of the Cathedral of the Immaculate
Conception. Her husband, Francis P. Miller, Sr., died in 1970,
and she is survived by three sons, John (Jack) M. Miller, of
Malden, Mass., Bernard E. Miller, Sr., of Arizona, and Louis P.
Miller of Nashua, New Hampshire; three daughters, Mrs. Theresa a.
Lytle of California, Mrs. Margaret Miller of Dover, New
Hampshire, and Mrs. Charles (Mary) King, Sr. of Portland, Maine
with whom she made her home; 27 grandchildren and 27 great
grandchildren: a brother Patrick Sullivan, and a sister, Mrs.
Leroy (Nora) Brown, both of Bath, New Brunswick. The funeral will
be at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday at 749 Congress St., followed by a
funeral mass in the Cathederal of the Immaculate Conception at 10
a.m. Interment will be in the Calvery Cemetery, South Portland.

Earl E. Monteith of Southampton passed away on October 21, 2002
at Carleton Memorial Hospital. He was born at Southampton on
February 16, 1923, a son of the late James and Hannah Guest (Belason)
Monteith. Earl was a veteran of the Second World War, serving
with the 3rd Antitank Battery of Peterborough, Ontario in Canada,
United Kingdom and Continental Europe. He was a life member of
the Royal Canadian Legion, Southampton Branch 27. Earl was
employed as a trucker until his retirement. He is survived by his
wife, Shirley A.R. (Caverhill) Monteith; a son, Jimmy Monteith (Mabel),
Keswick Ridge; a granddaughter, Lisa Monteith (Greg), Nackawic;
two sisters, Edna Grant, Toronto, Ontario and Maisie Crain (Basil),
Nackawic; several nieces and nephews. Earl was predeceased by
brothers, Robert, Ralph, William, Hazen and infant David Monteith.

MORGAN, Ronald W.
Ronald Weldon Morgan of Lower Windsor, New Brunswick, died on Aug
25, 1998 at the age of 78, at the Carleton Memorial Hospital, in
Woodstock, N.B. Born in Cloverdale, Carleton County, New
Brunswick, on April 24, 1920, he was the only remaining son of the late Robert Morgan
and the late Adelaide (Morgan) Orser. He was predeceased by his wife
Anna Pauline (Hayward) Morgan on May 24, 1984: his son (Norman)
Weldon Morgan on July 15, 1988 and his grandson Daniel Timothy
brown on May 22, 1998; as well as several brothers, sisters and
parents. He is survived by one daughter... and four sons...
Ronald served in W.W.II in the Royal Canadian Army Service Corp.
He was a member of the Hartland Legion and the Orange Lodge in
Coldstream. He was a member of the Armond Primitive Baptist
Church. A service by both the Legion and the Orange Lodge was
held at Britton Funeral Home on August 26, 1998... The service
was conducted by Rev. Michael Horsman, at the Coldstream Untied
Baptist Church. A special message was given by Rev. Halley
Stockford in tribute to Ronald. They were friends for many years.
Pallbearers were Wilfred Bishop; Gary Brown; Ricky Mean; Timothy
Bunckingham; Richard Stockford; and Claire Wallace.... Garvin
Sarchfield was the Honorary pallbearer and at the graveside he
presented the oldest son... with the Canadian flag and Ronald's

interment was in the Cloverdale Community Cemetery. His family
greatly appreciates the outpouring of love and support from

MURPHY, Charles
The death
of Mr Charles Murphy took place at the Fisher Memorial Hospital
on Saturday morning. The deceased was working for the Smith
Lumber Co. on the drive at Belleville, one day last week, and was
found unconscious by some of the men. It is presumed that he fell
out of a boat and received injuries which caused his death. Mr
Murphy was 71 years of age, and is survived by four sisters, Mrs
A C Hartley of Woodstock, Mrs Minnie Clifford, of Belfast, Me.,
Mrs Charles Tompkins of Guilford, Minn.(sic), Mrs Frederick
Nenlika, of McGregor, Minn., two brothers, Allie of Newburg and
James of McGregor, Minn. The funeral was held on Monday from the
residence of his sister, Mrs A C Hartley, the Rev J T Cavers
officiating. The pall bearers were: Wallace Gibson, Geo McElroy,
Geo King and Hugh Savage.

MURPHY, JOSEPH GERALD -
1954-2002 Joseph G. Murphy of Grand Falls, NB passed away at his
residence on January 14, 2002 at the age of 47. Born in Perth-Andover,
NB he was the son of the late Gerald and Frances (Sweeney) Murphy
and husband of Donna (Feeney) Murphy of Grand Falls. Joe is
survived by his wife Donna, daughter Amy Murphy, two sons; Jeremy
and Josh Murphy all of Grand Falls, sister; Judy Cronin (Kevin)
of Nackawic, NB and nephew Patrick Cronin. The family will
receive visitors at Kilcollins Funeral Home, 31 Hospital Street,
Bath, NB on Thursday January 17 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Mass of
Christian Burial will be held from St. Joseph\rquote s Catholic
Church in Bath on Friday January 18 at 11:00 am with Rev. Keith
Nielsen officiating. Interment will take place at the Johnville
Cemetery at a later date.

MUTRIE, PAULINE ELIZABETH -
of Woodstock passed away at Carleton Manor in Woodstock on
Friday, May 17, 2002 at age of 77. Pauline is survived by her
husband, Dr. W. Murray Mutrie; one son Dr. William Mutrie of
Woodstock, NB; two daughters, Nancy Acker of Kingston, NS;
Barbara Fox of Halifax, NS; three sisters Jeanne McLellan of
Halifax, NS; Peggy Jardine of Halifax, NS; Dorothy McCaughey of
Moncton, NB; she is also survived by three grandchildren,
Christopher Acker of Kingston, NS; Matthew Acker of Halifax, NS;
Rachel Fox of St. John\rquote s, NFLD; several nieces and nephews.
Resting at The Scott Funeral Home, 815 Main Street, Woodstock,
with visiting on Sunday from 7-9pm. Funeral Service will be held
on Monday at 3:00 pm from Scott Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Bruce
Redding will be officiating, with interment in the Woodstock
Rural Cemetery. If desired donations may be made to Alzheimer
Society of New Brunswick or to St. Pauls Presbyterian Church.
