Provincial: A Provincial road map showing the county boundaries is available on request from Tourism New Brunswick, Dept.339 P.O. Route 2, Trans-Canada Highway, transverses Carleton County crossing the Saint John River at Hartland.

A catalogue of Provincial and Federal Government maps can be obtained from Department of Natural Resources and Energy, Lands Branch, P.O. Box 6000, Fredericton NB, E3B 5H1 (Room 575, Centennial Building, Fredericton, NB). Researchers can obtain a copy of a Crown land grant by writing to the Lands Branch. The Crown grant map shows where the grant was located. Maps relating to census districts 1891 and earlier are not available but descriptions of areas are on the census returns.
You can order great maps for the county (or elsewhere in NB) from NB Geographic Information Corporation. They are detailed topographical maps showing not only towns, villages, and geographic features, but also current parish boundaries, cemeteries, etc. NBGIC also has land grant maps for all of NB as well. These are a different series and show who was given the original ownership of all property in NB but you just have to ask for them.
