In the mid 1980’s a group of volunteers from the YGF indexed the Montana Room’s collection of scrapbooks (Titled “Montana Pioneers Index” in this publication. Other scrapbooks are noted by Reference Numbers.
Various articles about the early settlers/pioneers are also tabulated, including obituaries and interviews. Photos of the person or event if available is so noted, and there are many!
Other references refer to the various books that are county specific; and an index to these is noted in the tabulation. The tabulation is 71 pages in length, and is in PDF format. The information may be searched using the Adobe “FIND” command, or the one on your computer.
Articles of interest can then be quickly accessed by a visit to the Montana Room.
