Activities
The purpose of The Forum is to instruct members of the
community about effective techniques for conducting genealogical research, and
to assist in the availability and preservation of genealogical and historical
records.
Membership Forum membership is open
to all persons and organizations.
Meetings General meetings are
normally held on the 4th Tuesday of the month at the
Research Record research and query

requests involving looking through the files, historical research books and
materials, copying information and sources, supplying pictures and related
details; and we will respond soon as practical.
On
Line Research Record research services for various types of Vital Records
is collected and summarized in the linked WORD document file listing. There are 22 parent sites noted; and all
offer free on-line services for extracts and copies of original records. The
groupings are extensive and please be patient when loading the first page of
the site. Read the entire site before starting your search. Be sure to follow
the site page’s directions and not the disguised embedded site search boxes
used by advertisers.
Newsletter The Forum publishes a quarterly
newsletter called "The Gen-Bug". Copies of previous issues are posted
on the site.

the search keyword and get that year's calendar displayed. Calculations of the
days account for the switch from the Julian calendar to the Gregorian calendar
in the American Colonies in 1752.
Birth Date Calculation. How to determine birth date: (provided by
DL, from the YGF)
Convert death date to 8-digits (yyyymmdd)
Compute Age at Death as:
yyymmdd. If years is one, enter two 00’s, for example. Subtract age for birth,
and then subtract 8870 from the result. Answer is year of birth in yyyymmdd.
Calendar Conversions. This site converter will convert information between the three most
important date systems (Gregorian Calendar, Julian Calendar, Julian Date) and
display the Latin and Roman versions of the Julian calendar. Information about
other date systems is provided.
Calendar Days by Year This site defines each day of the
week, by month from the 17th Century to the future. It is simple and

Census Finder. The Census Finder site maintains current links to all
known & available FREE census on-line lookups throughout the world. The
site grows in size almost daily, and includes Native Americans.
Roman Numeral to Arabic Numbers Conversion. With this sites' database you no longer
need to spend long hours or even months computing the dates in Roman numerals.
Local Montana Area Pictures,
Events and Genealogical Trees. This site titled “TribalPages”, created
by the Switzler Family, covers personal history of individuals in various
locations, including
Ellis Island Immigration Records. The LDS Genealogical researchers have been
extracting the records of immigrants passing through
The time period covered is 1 January 1881 through
31 October 2005, with monthly updates. The website is maintained by the North
Dakota
Department of Health's Division of Vital Statistics. Many early deaths were not
recorded and there are few deaths listed prior to 1900.
The website is the result of an 18-month project by a committee composed of
staff from the State Historical Society of North Dakota, the North
Dakota State Genealogical Society (NDSGS) and the
possible by funding and support provided by the NDSGS, which received an initial
grant of $1,000 from the North Dakota Community Foundation. The
NDSGS was then able to raise more than $2,000 in matching funds/donations from
other genealogical societies and genealogists from
