| * Ghost Towns, as listed in the County Historical Society Publication, Stoddard County, 1835-1985. They either no longer exist, or there may be only a store, or group of houses left. | Also from 1892-1899 the Post Office for the town of Fisk, MO was on the east side of the St. Francis River, and therefore in Stoddard Co. However, residents of the town petitioned that the Post Office be moved to the west side of the river in Butler Co., and it was moved in 1899. The Stoddard Co. town that had formerly been known as Fisk became Poplin. It soon ceased to exist. |
