Over the years, many of our historical society members have spent countless hours transcribing and documenting the cemeteries of Jefferson County, Missouri. Without the help of these volunteers, priceless information would be lost forever.
The transcriptions contained on our site are the actual tombstone readings ONLY. We are working hard on physically verifying the stones in each and every cemetery so that you, as researchers will know that the information contained on our site is as factual as possible. In some cases, this task will be impossible, as some stones, and even some cemeteries no longer exist. As you look through the cemetery listings, look for the "*verified" notation in the upper left corner of each page to see whether that particular cemetery has been checked for accuracy.
In addition to our original records, I have added many new cemeteries to the site, and I will continue to add more as time permits. Some of the bigger cemeteries have now been recorded and will be added soon. Please check back often to see what new and exciting things we have in store!
