The

Society collects and preserves information and artifacts relating to
the people and history of Roseau County. In addition to the Museum and
Interpretive Center, the society also manages a resource library an online
newsletter and makes books and videos available for purchase through
their online gift shop.

Historical Society
The
Minnesota Historical
Society, located in St. Paul, Minnesota, was founded over 150 years
ago (nine years before Minnesota became a state) for the purpose of
"collecting and preserving Minnesota's past and making that
heritage available to the public." The Society houses a museum,
research center, two gift shops, and a cafe and offers classes on a
variety of topics. The Minnesota
Historical Society Press publishes hundreds of titles, many of which
are available online. The Society also offers an online newsletter: Histor-E.

Genealogical Society
In
addition to managing the MGS Library, the Minnesota
Genealogical
Society, offers classes and publications on a variety of topics,
"how-to" information for those new to genealogy, and links to
other branches
and special interest groups under the Society umbrella such as the
German and Swedish Genealogical Societies and the Computer Interest
Group. The society also has an excellent page of links to other
genealogy resources.
National Genealogical Society
The
National
Genealogical
Society, offers all kinds of resources to genealogists at all
levels--from beginner to professional. Conferences, research trips,
virtual records, competitions, an online library of publications, even
resource materials for getting your kids involved.
