Various Burial Grounds
in Pleasant Grove Township

With life there is death. Early settlers in this community laid their members to rest near their homes or on the burial lot of relatives or friends.

The first mention of burial among early records states, "A man named Holmes was buried in the burial ground on the Pattridge claim". This is believed to have been on the Curtis A. Pattridge place just west of the village of Pleasant Grove, as older residents today mention burials "were made in the grove of trees to the west of the buildings on the Curtis Pattridge claim".

Burials were also made on the knoll east of the village on the John Collins claim.
