Hubbard County GenWeb

Thanks to the volunteer help of numerous people who have a heart for historical preservation, many records have been recorded and made available for easy access to the general public at the Hubbard County GenWeb site.

Formed in 1998, the Hubbard County Genealogical Society (HCGS) in Park Rapids, Minnesota, was organized to bring together persons interested in family research; to help others who seek genealogical information; to promote interest in genealogy and family history; to preserve records about pioneers and past residents of Hubbard County and to provide a research library.

The historical and genealogical resources of Hubbard County are maintained by the Hubbard County Historical Museum. The museum is open May - October. Online resources can be accessed at the Hubbard County GenWeb.

The HCGS is eager to assist and communicate with researchers. We work closely with the Hubbard County GenWeb and the Hubbard County Historical Society and are always eager to obtain new information on the families and history of our area.

FAMILY HISTORY PROJECT

The Hubbard County Genealogy Society has taken on the task of compiling

Hubbard County's 150 Most Influential People, Places and Events.

  • We are asking for submissions of any thing that you personally find of great importance to the
    shaping of our county.

  • What people, places, or events in Hubbard County do you think has had the most influence on our community's history and why?

  • Nominate your choices for the people, places, and events that make us who we are.

  • We're looking for accounts of people who have made a big difference in our county, not only throughout the past 15O years, but before also, of places and businesses that were and are important to the community and of events that have had a great effect on our history.

Look for the publication in early May. The supplement will feature a profile of the 150 selected nominees, along with excerpts from the submissions and the name of the nominators. Additional copies will be available at the Hubbard County Historical Museum where the Ira Benham Resource Center, the counties' historical research library, is located.
