Montcalm County Reference Books and Lookup Volunteers This page contains a list of Montcalm County lookup resources. As you can see, materials and volunteers are needed!
Feel free to request a look-up from the folks listed below, but please follow these guidelines:
Limit your request to one name per request. -
Put Montcalm County Lookup in the subject line of your email to ensure the message is not overlooked or accidentallydeleted.
Remember to thank the person who does the look-up for you. They are all volunteers. (Maybe you can do a lookup for them?)
| May, 2007 Bev Stedman. I am willing to look up death and marriage records for Montcalm County. I can look up births if the
person was born over 110 years ago (state law). I can not look up obituaries nor can I do general searches such as "anything you can
find about the Smith family".

| March 13, 2002 Hi, my name is Nancy. I have a book named "Douglas, A Michigan Township" by A.M. Gustafson. It is a history of Montcalm County, copyright 1982. It has so much information that it is a great reference. If I can ever look up anything for you I would be happy to assist.

| updated Feb, 2004 White Pine Library Research The USGenWeb Project is committed to providing free genealogy resources to researchers everywhere, but sometimes there are few local volunteers and materials are hard to come by. There are reputable sources such as libraries and historical societies that are willing to do lookups for a modest fee and in many cases this may be the only source available for you to obtain the information you seek. In the event you wish to avail yourself of some of these resources I will list them here.
White Pine Library: $10.00 per hour research fee.

| Hello, My name is Tina and I live in the Lakeview area. I am willing to do look-ups in the Lakeview Enterprise, and the old issues of the Coral newspaper. I know that Coral, Greenville, Lakeview, Amble and several others are covered by the paper. I think that would be of help to others to know this.

Montcalm County Marriages Jack & Marianne Dibean - We have a CD of Michigan Marriages that covers the late 1800's and some early 1900's and are willing to do lookups. Not all marriages are on the CD. |
Montcalm County Land Records
Dave Wheeler I have access to the index of Michigan land patents for the period of the late 1700's to 1908. PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING: I do not have the actual records, only an index of names who were granted patents in Michigan. You have to send a request to The General Land Office of the Bureau of Land Management in Springfield, Va. to get the actual record. The information I can provide is as follows: name, size (in acres), signature date, land office where patent was issued, and the access information needed by the The General Land Office to retrieve the record. So, I can tell you if someone was granted a patent in Michigan during the aforementioned time period, but it's up to you to request the information from The General Land Office. |
