|
Check out our latest site updates
We also host an award winning historical website titled: American Local History Network Kalamazoo County, Michigan
Our Kalamazoo County ALHN site is located at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~mikalam2/
You Can Help ! You can be a part of this amazing and enjoyable project. We always welcome new members to our project. Our site has activities for Photographers, transcribers and proofers.
On 7/7/08 we added Harrison Cemetery in Prairie Ronde Township. This cemetery is photographed and transcribed completely. We have included an article of a dead body found in the cemetery in 1994. There is a tale of a glowing marker in the cemetery. These items can be linked to from the transcription page.
On 6/26/08 we added a list
of known Civil War Burials in Kalamazoo County. On the menu, select
Burial Index then Civil War Burials. On 6/26/08 we added information about Elliot M. Norton. Elliot is the only Civil War Veteran buried in any Kalamazoo County Cemetery that received a Medal of Honor. On the menu, select Information then Elliot M. Norton.
On 5/28/08 we added a Cemetery Humor page to our site. This page we will display some humorous monuments or engravings.
On 5/21/08 we added a Memorial Day tribute home page to our site. After Memorial Day the page was moved to a link under the Information menu item so people could still enjoy it.
On 5/15/08 we added South Cemetery in the City of Portage. This cemetery is photographed and transcribed completely.
On 1/13/07 the Kalamazoo Gazette did an article on our project. You can read it under the information menu.
We will soon be adding more cemeteries.
We want to thank you for being patient waiting for more updates. We are working hard on photographing cemeteries and will be indexing them as time permits. Keep visiting our site and we hope to have more data and photos online soon. We appreciate your support.
Please sign our guestbook.
