SEBAGO HISTORICAL SOCIETY

Our historical society meets on the
4th Wednesday of the month at our museum on the Convene Rd in
Sebago.
We have many permanent displays and photo collections that we enjoy
sharing
with others. An open house is held on the 2nd Saturday and 4th
Sunday
of the months of June, July, and August, when people can come and visit
our museum. It is also possible to meet someone there at other
times
by appointment. We have a number of special events during the
summer
season. Some of them are:
* July 17 - 19, 2008 - Sebago Days - A two day festival with parades, booths, music, food, crafts, fireworks, and a giant yard sale.
* June - Our 1854 church service held in the Historical Society Building, which was originally built as the Freewill Baptist Church in 1844. We dress in period costumes and assume the identities of families who were in Sebago at that time. The service is open to the public, but seating is limited.
Officers for the 2007 - 2008 year:
President and Curator - Ann Burns
V President - Roberta Douglass
Executive Secretary - June Allen
Recording Secretary - Penny Crabtree
Treasurer - Kathy Whitcomb
