- ADAMSON, CROWN posted by Carolyn Travers on Tuesday, October 14, 1997
- Seeking information on parents of Richard H. ADAMSON, b. 1825,27 MD., d. 1872/73 D.C. He
was married 12/24/1848 in D.C. to Mary Ann CROWN (b. 1824/26 D.C.). They had five children
all born in Washington, D.C.: Irving (b. 1848), William Winford (b.. 1850), Mary Emma (b.
1853), Edward F. (b. 1854), and Richard Albert (b. 1860). I believe Richard H. ADAMSON is
a descendant of John Baldwin ADAMSON (1700's Montgomery Co.), but have been unable to link
them so far. Any information on Richard H. would be greatly appreciated.
- BUT, BUTT, BUTTS, BUTZ, GLAZE, MANN posted by Jody Thomson on Wednesday, October 15, 1997
- . . . I am collecting all information on this surname in Montgomery County, MD
especially for the period of approximately 1750-1810. My ancestor, Regnal BUTTS, was born
in MD ca 1794. He married Aney MANN in Adam/Brown County, OH on 12 Dec 1816. Later they
settled in Montgomery Co., Indiana and in several counties in Missouri. I suspect that he
was one of the children of Mary A. (-?-) BUTTS who was a widow when she settled in Brown
County, OH. Based on the birthyear of some of her children, she was probably married to a
BUTTS by 1790. If her husband was the same age that she was, this male BUTTS would have
been born ca 1765 and he probably died about 1800-1805. The widow-BUTTS may have left MD
with other families such as GLAZE. Any information at all on these families would be very
much appreciated.

Henderson, William born mid to late 1600's Toadvine, Mary b: mid 1600's Hayman, William b:
February 17, 1668/69 d: 1746 John & Margaret's children were all born in what is now
Montgomery Co., MD. Nicholas Hayman was also known as Nicholas Haymond, he was married
with issue of two, but his marriage record has not been found as yet nor the name of his
wife which may have died young. I am still trying to find a baptizmal record for John
Hayman/Haymond to prove he is the son of William & Mary (Toadvine) Hayman of Monie,
Somerset Co., MD. and Worchester Co., MD. Some feel John was born in England, but from the
naming pattern of John & Maragaret (Calder) Haymond, there is a strong reason to feel
he belongs to William & Mary.
