I
just wanted to throw a page together here to introduce myself
to those who frequently stop in at the Shelby County KyGenWeb
Project site. My name is Donald Murphy and I'm your new
volunteer county coordinator with the Project. I
was born in Louisville, but have lived in Shelby County since
the 4th grade. I currently reside in
Shelbyville. I've been an avid amateur genealogist
now for about 5 years. It really does get into
your blood! I have a full-time profession working
in Frankfort every day, and I work on my county websites in my
spare time. I'm currently also the coordinator for
Jefferson and Oldham Counties. My email is always
open for comments or questions. Since I live in
the county, it is hoped I'll be able to obtain information
easier, and hopefully, add a few new databases to assist you
guys with your own trees.
Annette Peebles, your previous
coordinator, recently decided to give up the site due to having too
many irons in the fire. She took over for Ronda Houston
several years ago and has done a great job watching over Shelby
County. She'll still be around the USGenWeb involved in
her numerous other ventures. I don't see how she does it
all. Her efforts here the last few years have been
wonderful and she left me with a site full of information and great
potential. Her commitment has most certainly been
appreciated. I'll
do my best to maintain the integrity of the Project by posting
data contributed by any of you and by my own hand when I find
the time. Please feel free to email me with any questions or submissions you may have.
This is a project that includes me and you! I may
not know as much as some of the experts, but I truly want to
be helpful whenever I can be. Working together, we
might be able to come up with a solution for anyone needing
help with their families that passed through Shelby
County. I hope that you like the new look of the
site. Holler anytime at all! Donnie |
