Most of my ancestors lived in Kentucky before it became a state so, I'm interested in researching in several diferent counties. On my mother's side of the family I have Capt. Edward Worthington who fought with George Rogers Clark.
My Welch family has been in Kentucky since 1790.
On my Dad's side of the family the Hayden's were some of the first settlers that migrated from St. Mary's Co. Md.
and brought with them a large Catholic movement in the mid 1700's. My Kentucky roots run very deep and cover a large area in Kentucky. Some of my early Hayden's lived in Nelson Co. so I wanted to find out about joining your Nelson County Historical Society. I'm also interested in the books you have to offer. I'm very please with the information provided on this site.

Hope someone can answer me -- don't know where else to go to find such info.

Apparently, my families were only in Nelson Co for 50 years, give or take, hailing from coastal VA. My grandfather, Abraham Riggs, and brothers and other relatives were born in Nelson Co, married there, had some children-- removing to Daviess Co in the 1830s where more children were born. Abraham married Elizabeth Crabtree in Nelson Co but I did not find a record. Perhaps another day.
