This town is the judicial seat of Johnson County, and is growing and prosperous. It is located on the Big Sandy River and is a shipping point on the stream. Gatlettsburgh, at the mouth of the Big Sandy River, 65 mites .distant, is the nearest railroad approach and bank location. Here also are eteam saw and grist mills, two churches, and three schools. Wheat, sorghum, beans, timbers and tan bark are shipped. Stage to Willard; fare $2.50. Population, 300, mail daily.
