Frankfort Presbyterian Church to James M. Lancaster

This
Indenture, made and entered the Second day of april in the year 1849 Between
William J. Phillips, Asa Farrar Zephariah Williams Benj Moore Joseph Clark
and William M. Todd Elders & Trustees of the Frankfort Presbyterian church
of the first part and James M. Lancaster of the Second part Witneseth, that
the party of the first part in consideration of the sum of five thousand
dollars, fifteen hundred dollars part of which have now been received and
the notes of Said Lancaster they hold for the remainder of the price, they
the parties of the first part do hereby Sell alien enfeoff and convey to
the party of the Second part a certain lott or parcel of ground Situate lying
and being in the Town now city of Frankfort and bounded as follows to wit
Beginning on Wapping Street at Catfish alley thence with Wapping Street one
hundred and twenty eight or thirty feet to the corner of the Richmon warehouse,
thence northwardly at right angles 99 feet or one hundred feet to Lot No
10 as designated in the town plan thence westwardly at right angles and parallel
to Wapping Street to Catfish alley thence with Catfish alley to the Beginning
together with all the improvements rights privileges and appurtenances thereto
belonging - To have and to hold unto the said James M. Lancaster the party
of the Second part and unto his heirs and assigns forever and the party of
the first part bind themselves their heirs and Successors to warrant and
defend the title to said parcel of ground unto the Said party of the first
part and unto his heirs and assigns forever.
In testimony
where of the parties of the first part have hereto set their hands and seals
the day & year above written.

H. Rennick Clerk of the County Court for the County of Franklin, do certify
that the within deed from the Elders & Trustees of the Frankfort Presbyterian
Church to James M. Lancaster was produced to me in my office on the fourth
day of april 1849. and was acknowledged by Benjamin Monroe & William
M. Todd to be their act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned and on
the fifth day of april 1849 was acknowledged by Zephariah Williams and William
J. Phillips to be their act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned,
and afterwards on the Sixth day of april 1849 was truly recorded in my office
with the foregoing certificate Witneseth my hand as clerk as aforesaid this
13th day of April 1849.
