Welcome to The Campbell County (Kentucky) Historical and Genealogical Society

UPDATED 2/24/2008

 HOT NEWS!

Join The Campbell County Historical and Genealogical Society and over a dozen other Historical Organizations at Northern Kentucky University on Saturday April 5th for History Day 2008.

What Is The Campbell County Historical Society?

The Campbell County Historical and Genealogical society is a non-profit organization formed in 1990 and dedicated to preserve, protect and promote history and genealogy in Campbell County, Kentucky. We meet once a month with local members receiving a phone call about the topic and location before that month's meeting. Meetings are held the second Thursday of each month and include a featured speaker on a topic of local interest. Visitors are always welcome!

We also maintain a research office on the second floor of the recently vacated historic Alexandria Courthouse. A few of our ongoing projects are: genealogy, research into small forgotten cemeteries, research into Campbell County log cabins, collection of information on Campbell County Veterans and the writing and reprinting of local history books.

All members receive our award winning quarterly Newsletter "Campbell County History News" which contains information on local history and genealogy which may not be found anywhere else.

SEE SELECTED ARTICLES FROM PREVIOUS ISSUES IN THE ARCHIVES!

The Veterans Data Project

One of the most successful projects of the historical society has been the collection of information on Campbell County Veterans. With forms continuing to pour in, the project has already produced over a dozen binders filled with data on veterans from every war. Many people have attached copies of important documents, pictures and other information relating to the veteran's service. Several other historical societies are considering duplicating the project in their area.

If you or your ancestor served in the military and also lived one or more years in Campbell County, we would like to add your information to our list of honored veterans. Please use the link below to access the Veterans form, print it out, and mail it to the address shown at the top of the form.
