Auto Accident Fatal To
Mrs. Gertie Atwood
Mrs. Gertie Atwood, 66, was fatally injured in an automobile accident, about three miles south of Danville on Highway 35 Sunday morning at around 3 A.M. She died of injuries shortly after taken to the McDowell Hospital at Danville.
In the same accident Kenneth Atwood, her son, received some bruises, his wife was hospitalized for two days, and their infant child received some injuries.
The family was on their way to Casey from Cincinnati. Mrs. Atwood has been staying with her children in Cincinnati. The 1955 station wagon went into a skid on the same curve north of Junction City other Caseyites have been injured at. The vehicle was badly demolished.
She was the wife of the late Charlie F. Atwood and daughter of B. Lee and Sarah E. Mullinex. She was born Dec. 25, 1894, in this county.
She is survived by eight children: Mrs. Sarah Davis and Mrs. Helen Christine Alford of Mt. Healthy, Ohio; Mrs. Dolly Edna Sherbert, Mrs. Faye E. Addison and Kenneth E. Atwood, Cincinnati; George F. Atwood, Martinville, Ind.; and Mrs. Jessie B. Stafford and Mrs. Rae E. Douglas of Liberty.
She is also survived by 22 grandchildren and two great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Vina Wilkinson, Lexington; and Mrs. Hattie Overstreet, Liberty; three brothers, Sam Lee of Indiana; Will Lee of Dunnville and Marion Lee of Indiana.
She became a member of the Riffe Creek United Brethern church at the age of 14.
Pall bearers were Raymond Davis, Chester Davis Jr., Jimmie Turner, Herman Douglas, Ray and Bobby Overstreet. Flower girls were her granddaughters.
Rev. L. C. Younf officiated
at the funeral. Miller Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Funeral services for Clem L. Hendrickson, 46, were held at the St. Bernard's catholic church of Clementsville on Thursday morning of last week. The Rev. Fr. Buren officiated.
Death came to Mr. Hendrickson at his home on Casey Creek on Tuesday morning, August 14. He had been in declining health for several years.
He worked in Cincinnati for some 15 years. He came to the home of his sister, Mrs. Charles Wethington where he lived until the time of his death. During World War II he was employed with Wright Bros. in Cincinnati.
He was never married. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Lena Hendrickson of casey Creek; a sister, Mrs. Charles Wethington, and one brother, Edgar Hendrickson of Elkhorn.
He was a quiet natured man,
he was well liked at his home and where he worked.
Jesse Rich Bell, 88, died at the McDowell Hospital at Danville from internal bleeding a short time after he had been taken there, and was believed to be recovering from what seemed a minor ailment. Death came to him on Tuesday.
Mr. Bell was one of the oldest and best known citizens in the county. He had a large family and many friends acquired through his many years as a Mason, church worker, and former deputy sheriff of the county. He was intimate with all parts of the county.
After the death of his wife, Dora Patton, who died several years ago made his home with his children and sometimes his grandchildren. A good part of his last years were spent in and around Liberty.
He was born March 8, 1868, the son of Robert Bell amd Malissa Rich. He married Dora Patton about the time he was 18 or 70 years ago. He has been a great, great grandfather for several years.
He is survived by the following children: Mrs. Joe Henson, Dunnville; Mrs. mattie Witt, Linnie; Claud Bell, near Liberty; Clyde Bell, Tennessee Ridge; Mrs. Clara Terry, Dunnville, Homer Bell, Jacksonville, Fla.; Omer Bell, Tennessee Ridge; and amny grandchildren. Two of his children died in infancy.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday afternoon at the Green River Valley church of which he was a meber; Interment will be in the church cemetery. The Rev. Wilmer Ellis will officiate.
He will be honored with Masonic rites. he was a member of that lodge for 52 years.

Tandy Campbell, about 80, died in Cincinnati on Sunday of this week. He lived for many years in the county, and inLiberty near the water tower. Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon and interment was at the Oak Hill Cemetery at Glendale, Ohio.
He was a Mason with more than 50 years of service. Masonic rites were given in Cincinnati.
He is survived by his wife
and two sons, Ernest and Tandy Jr., who live in Cincinnati.
Funeral services for Virgil Randolph were held at the Poplar Grove Church on Tuesday after noon of this week. The Rev. Hobert Lynn of Hustonville officiated.
Death came to Mr. Randolph at the Casey Hospital on Sunday of this week. He was 77 years of age. He was the son of John and Margie Goode Randolph. Practically his entire life was spent at Brush Creek.
He was married to Miss Mamie Snow and to this union one child was born. In July, 1905 he was married to Miss Lenora Lynn and to this union seven children were born. She died in 1918. His third marriage was to Mis Myrtle Whited, and they became the parents of 11 children. She survives him.
Besides his widow, he is survived by the following children. Mrs. Katie Gifford, Danville; Floyd Randolph, Hustonville; Mrs. Lillian Edwards, Detroit; Mrs. Elma Vanon, Bradfordsville; Mrs. Edith Wilkinson, Liberty; Charles Randolph and Mrs. Lucille Streeval Cincinnati; Mrs. Sallie Woods, Liberty; Mrs. Lois Baxter, Mooresville, Ind.; Glenn Randolph, Liberty; Harold randolph, U.S. Army; and John William, Shirley, and Ronald of the home.
He is also survived by 54 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

charge of arrangements.
Funeral services for Marion King, 77, will be held at the Poplar Grove Church near Brush Creek on Thursday at 2 o'clock. The Rev. Elmer Stevens will officiate. The body will be at the home until time for the funeral. He died at the Casey Hospital Tuesday afternoon.
He was the son of George Alford and Sarah Edwards King. He was born Nov. 15, 1877. He spent his entire life on Brush Creek.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mollie Moore King, and the following children. Chester King, Mooresville, Ind.; Mrs. Murl Huff, Mooresville, Ind.; Mrs. Bonnie Wilcher, Mooresville, Ind.; and Mrs. Minnie Tapscott, Mooresville, Ind.; and Dennie King of Chelf Ridge.
Also surviving are two brothers, W. J. King, McLean, Ill.; and Orlando King of Indianapolis, and two sisters, Mrs. Carrie Grubbs, Indianapolis; and Mrs. Terrica Wells, Yosemite. There are also 15 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Charlie Corbitt Games, 60, were held at the Brush Creek Christian Church last week. The Rev. Leo Lacy officiated. Interment was in the church cemetery. He was the son of Benjamin F. and Adline Florian Games and was born at Franklin, Simpson County on March 22, 1896. He died in the veteran's hospital in Louisville after declining health of several years. He came to Casey in 1901.
He was married to Myrtle Ferrell of Birdtown, Tenn., in 1924 and they became the parents of two children, Mrs. Jimmie Hall (Pauline) of Jeffersonville, Ind., and Euell Games of Mt. Vernon, N. Y.
Also surviving are one brother, Buford Games, Lexington, and eight sisters: Mrs. Dora Stafford, Liberty; Mrs. Ida Wilson, Muncie, Ind.; Mrs. Ella Sharp, Liberty; Mrs. Bennie Wilson, Liberty; Mrs. Addie Wilson, Midway; Mrs. Ruth Brown, Nicholasville; Mrs. Maud Games, Georgetown; and Mrs. Anna Lay, Midway.
He was a veteran of World
War I where he served with Company K of the 17th Infantry. He was a private
with no overseas duety and was discharged on January 24, 1919. At that
time he lived at Dove in this county.
Mrs. Ann Ruth Duncan died at Monroe, Mich., on August 11. She was a niece of Mrs. Eunice Christian, Blue Lynch, and Mrs. Leonard Wilson.
Her father was Vernon Lynch,
who passed away 21 years ago. She is survived by her husband, Tom Duncan,
who is in the service and a 6-year old daughter. Services were held at
Newtazwell, Tenn.
Funeral services for Mrs. Tura Godbey Ware Henson were held at the Bethelridge Methodist church at two o'clock on Saturday afternoon of last week. The Rev. O. C. Reese officiated. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Death came to Mrs. Henson on Thursday of last week.
She was the daughter of Joseph and Mary J. Godbey and was born June 29, 1878, making her 78 years of age.
At the age of 25 she was married To McGorvey Ware. They became the parents of three children: Zora Ware of Liberty, Roscoe Ware of Gilpin, and Ocrey Dell Sayers of Mintonville.
After the death of Mr. Ware she was married again to Granville Henson, also deceased and they became the parents of a daughter, Reva Henson, who was living with her mother at the time of her death.
She is also survived by two step-daughters, Mrs. John Roberts of Liberty and Mrs. Homer Baldock of Windsor; a brother, Dye Godbey of Bethelridge, five grandchildren, a foster granddaughter, and one great grandson.
She was a lifetime member of the Bethelridge church.

Ben May, 80, widely known Casey County farmer and stockman, died in Lebanon Sunday night at Mary Immaculate Hospital where he had been a patient since suffering a stroke Sunday.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Pearl Purdom May; a son, Lucien May; Louisville; two daughters, Mrs. Louis Rosenfield, Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. Reva Letzinger, Providence, and three brothers, Dave May, Gravel Switch: G. C. May, Maryville, Ind., and Henry L. may, Cox's Creek
The funeral will be at 2
p.m. (C.D.T.) Monday at Bosley Funeral Home, Lebanon: burial at Resthaven
Memorial Park, Louisville.
Jubalee Hudson, 65, a ward of the county for around 30 years and for the last 17 years a patient at the home for the Aged, died there on Saturday of last week.
He was the son of R. S. and Elizabeth Luttrell Hudson and was born in Pulaski County April 19, 1892.
He was the only child from a late marriage and inherited something like 800 to 900 acres of land south of the Bethelridge church. The land, personalty and livestock was once valued at around $1000,000. He let this fortune slip from his hands as a young man.
He was married at one time to Miss Lula Brown, daughter of the late Henry Brown of near Salem, where he was set up in housekeeping and was again unsuccessful. He started becoming a ward of the county at least 30 years ago, and for the last 15 years has been blind.
His closest survivors were cousins.
Funeral services were held
at the salem Christian Church on Monday afternoon with the Rev. Wilmer
Ellis officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. Bartle Funeral
Home was in charge of arrangements.
Rev. John T. Brown, a retired minister, and one of the oldest eesidents of the county died on Sunday of this week following declining health over a period of years. He had been seriously Il for about 10 days preceding his death.
He made his home in the Caney Fork section of the county, and was a life-time resident of the county.
He was the son of James and Byrtie Baldock Brown and was born January 3, 1861. His wife has been dead a number of years.
He is survived by Mrs. Kate Atwood and Mrs. Sally Edwards of Liberty and Mrs. Julia Campbell of Clementsville.
Funeral services were held
on Tuesday afternoon of this week with the bartle Funeral Home in charge
of arrangements. The Rev. Elmer Stevens held the services at the Caney
Fork Baptist Church of which he was a member, Intermen was at Caney Fork
Cemetery. Musi cwas furnished by the Shady Grove Choir. His grandsons were
casket bearers.
Tom Barlow Rites at Liberty on Wednesday
Funeral services for Tom Barlow, 76, were held at the Liberty Methodist church on Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock with the Rev. Leo S. Lacy officiating Interment was at Tapscott Cemetery.
Death came to Mr. Barlow on Monday of this week following an illness of about a year, at his apartment in Liberty.
He was married to Sara Jane Barlow Dec. 11, 1905, who survives. He is survived by seven children. Three children have died. The survivors are Jess Barlow, Mrs. Verna Hafley, Crab Orchard; Mrs. Lillie Hafley, Lexington; Mrs. Ollie Atwood, Lexington; George Barlow, Fort Knox; Johnnie Barlow, Cincinnati; Mrs. Pearl Lawhorn, Lexington;
He is also survived by two brothers, Tuck and Elk Barlow; 18 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Pruitt Funeral Home of Moreland
was in charge of arrangements.
Funeral srevices for Edgar D. Wall, 59, were held at the Valley Oak Baptist Church on Saturday afternoon of last week at 2:00 o'clock with the Rev. O. A. Reece officiating.
Mr. Wall died on Thursday afternoon, Jan. 17. at his home following a stroke the previous evening. He had been in declining health for the last three years.
He was the son of the late John and Arena Durham Wall. He was born on July 17, 1895.
He was married to Miss Flossie Godbey on April 17, 1921, who survives. He is also survived by four children: Mrs. Louis Dick, Cincinnati; Mrs. Clarence Roy, Louisville; Mrs. Dallen Durham, Yosemite; and Mrs. Tyler Jasper, Mintonville; and fourteen grandchildren.
He is also survived by a sister, Mrs. David Burton; a half sister, Mrs. Polly Jane Hines; two half brothers, Willie and Tilden Wall, all of Argyle.
He was a long-time member of the Valley Oak Church where he served as sexton for many years.

E. Moore, Kenneth Jasper, Lawrence Roy, Charlie Vaught, Harold Royalty,
and Ezra Wall. Miller Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Interment
was in the Valley Oak Cemetery.
Funeral services for Mrs. Hattie May, 73, were held at the Cold Springs Primative Baptist Church at 10:30 o'clock Wednesday morning with the Rev. Charlie Crow of Livingston officiating.
Death came to Mrs. May on Monday of this week.
Mrs. May was born in North Carolina the daughter of Oliver and Mary Daugherty. She was born on Sept. 3, 1883, and migrated to Casey several years ago.
She was married to Oscar May, who has preceded her in death by four years.
She is survived by the following children; Mrs. Dorcie BernHardt, Cincinnati; Mrs. Clyde Giles, Columbus, Ind.; Tom May, Liberty; Mrs. Jeston Giles, Pellyton. and 25 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Interment was in the Cold
Springs Cemetery. Bartle Funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
Funeral services were held for Killis Jasper Followell on Thursday of last week at the pruitt Funeral Home at Moreland with the Rev. Leo S. Lacy officiating.
Death came to Mr. Followell at the age of 77 on Tuesday, Jan. 15, following prolonged illness from old age and other causes.
He was married to Miss Hester Hill as a young man and they became the parents of four children: Bryon Followell of Harrodsburg, Thomas Followell of Sycamore, Ill., Ernest Followell of Pana, Ill., and Mrs. Mary Beth Eads of Indianapolis.
He was married to Minnie W. Hill on Nov. 25, 1910, and they became the parents of seven children; Eddie Followell, Franklin, Ind.; Robert Followell, Junction City; Mrs. Lydia Sears, Hustonville; Mrs. Rushia Watson, Hustonville; Mrs. Frances Simpson Manito, Ill.; Mrs. Manelle Denson and Charles Followell, Franklin, Ind.
He is also survived by 43 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren. Three grandchildren have died.
He was a veteran of the Spanish-American War, one of the few remaining members of this group.
Funeral services were held at the Mt. Olive Christian Church for Mrs. Elvira Frances Elliott Jones on Saturday, Jan 19, with the Rev. Lloyd Keeney officiating.
She was the daughter of William J. Elliott and Louvena Wall Elliott and was born at Mt. Olive on March 1, 1900, making her 56, years of age. She died at Stanford while visiting a niece, Mrs. Lena Godbey.
On October 7, 1934, she was married to Dow Preston Jones, who preceded in in death in 1952. They had no children.
She is survived by three brothers, Silas M. Elliott of Nabb, Ind.; Emery Elliott of Waynesburg; and Paul Elliott of Maple Grove; and three sisters, Mrs. L. H. Wall, Kings Mountain; Mrs. Harlan Elliott, Creola, Ohio; and Mrs. Martha Stugdman of Cincinnati.

charge of arrangements. Pall bearers were Raymond, Arthur and Bill Walls,
Estill Grubbs, Lloyd Salyers, and Jesse Sims.
Funeral services were held for Esker Patterson, 57, at his home on Calvary Ridge on Monday of this week. The Rev. Lloyd Keeney officiated. Interment was in the Old Nichols Cemetery on Calvary Ridge.
Death came to Mr. Patterson on Saturday of last week of influenza; he had been an invalid all his life, probably from infantile paralysis.
He was the son of Sirenes and Bettie Patterson.
He is survived by his mother, three brothers and two sisters. They are Chester, Cyrus, Preston, Myrtle and Rhoda Patterson.

charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Beatrice and Earl Hamilton, Aaron
Floyd, Luther Wall, Paris Durham, and Travis Black.
Linzy Hughett, 70, died of a heart attack at the home of Richard Lay at Caney Fork at noon on Monday of this week.
Mr. Hughett was working on a wrecked car at the time of his death. He had eaten dinner with Mr. Lay and went to work on the car while Mr. Lay sat in the shade nearby, Mr. Lay saw him sit down in front of the car with his head down but did not take alarm.
It was only when the attack caused him to fall over that Mr. Lay rushed to his assistance. By this time he was too far gone to give assistance. Mr. Hughett was attempting to take out some pills from a small bottle he was carrying which were used as a heart stimulant.
Deputy Coroner Fred Burkhard investigated the death.
Mr. Hughett was born at Huntsville, Tenn. the son of John and Lizzie Brown Hughett and one of 11 children. The family moved to this county when he was a small boy. He worked at Indianapolis in a milling company for many years, and moved to this county after a heart condition about eight years ago. He had been living by himself near the home of his two sisters, Mrs. Florence Langford and Mrs. Ida Derringer. He also has a brother, Eugene Hughett, living at Indianaplois.
He is survived by three children, Claud Hughett and Mrs. Margaret Shell of Indianapolis, and Mrs. Lonzo J. Barnett, El Cajon, Calif.
The funeral will be held
at the Caney Fork church on Friday afternoon at two o'clock. It has been
held up awaiting for the arrival of the daughter from California. Interment
will be at the Caney Fork Cemetery. Bartle Funeral Home has been in charge
off all arrangements.
Funeral services were held for Willie Bastin, 81, at the Mt. Olive Christian Church on Sunday of this week with the Rev. Floyd Keeney officiating. Interment was at the Salyers Cemetery.
Death came to Mr. Bastin of a heart condition on Thursday of last week. He had been in declining health due to old age and other ailments. He had been living with his nephew, Green Lee Bastin for the last seven years.
He was born on February 13, 1876, the son of Tilda Ann Wall and Henry Bastin.
On October 10, 1911, he was married to Hattie Trusty. They had no children. Mrs. Bastin preceded him in death on August 4, 1932, as well as five - brothers and a sister, namely; Craig, Alex, Greenberry, Solomon, Joe, and the sister, Sally.
Mr. Bastin was the last of a large pioneer family of honest, hardworking, and humble people who contributed much to the up-building to their community and county.
Mr. Bastin, like the rest of his family, had the ability to retain names, dates and events. Like many pioneers, he retained the dates of marriages, birth, and ancestry of everyone he was acquainted with.
A faithful church member, he became a member of the Mt. Olive church on Sept. 15, 1894, under the ministry of Rev. Andrew Taylor.
Pallbearers were Q. C., Robert, Eulas, Ralph, and V. E. Bastin and Arnold Godbey.

Mrs. Daisy Estes Hatter was laid to rest in the salyers Cemetery after her funeral at the Mt. Olive Christian Church on Thursday of last week. The Rev. Loyd Keeney officiated. Death came to Mrs. Hatter on her 76th birthday following ill health for about 18 months. She became serious on Monday and died on Tuesday, Oct. 15.
She was the daughter of the late Coleman and Elizabeth Salyers and was born on October 15,1881.
In 1897 she was married to JohnEstes, deceased, and became the mother of six children, Homer Estes, Mrs. Bennie Williams, Mrs. Everett Farmer, Mrs. Rolland Southerland, all of Cincinnati; Hobert Estes of Yosemite, and Mrs. Victor Taylor of Somerset.
Surviving are 22 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren; two step children, Cecil Hatter, Lexington; and Mrs. Homer Vaught, Bethelridge; and a half sister, Mrs. Elsie Watson, New Mexico.
In 1928 she was married a second time to Claud Hatter, deceased, and after his death became the foster mother of Elizabeth Salyers, whom she reared and educated.
Pallbearers were six of her
grandsons, Woodson, Vernon, and Robert Lawhorn, Gerald and david Taylor,
and Johnny Estes. Miller Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Notice of the death of Walter Girard, about 45, was delayed to his family something like a day due to lack of identification papers this week.
Mr. Girard died of a heart attack in a hospital some time Monday. His family on Thomas Ridge did not learn about it until late Tuesday evening. Full details were still not available.
Mr. Girard worked at Indianapolis while his family of five lives on Thomas Ridge near Dunnville. He had been working there and coming home for some time.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ersie Bernard Girard, and four children all 12 or under. They are Glen, Mollie, and twin Sons, Darrell and Harold. He has one brother in Indiana.
The funeral will likely be
some time Thursday at the Thomas Ridge Church with interment at the church
cemetery. Gosser Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements, having gone
after the body Tuesday night.
Mrs. Nancy Clark Dawson of Bloomfield died Sunday at a Bardstown hospital of injuries received in an automobile accident on Friday.
Her husband, who survives, is the contractor who has built all the bridges in this county in recent months, including the one over Green River just south of Liberty.
Besides her husband she is
survived by two sons, Bobby and Tommy Dawson, and a sister Mrs.Harold Barton
of Corbin.
Mrs. Lee Burtram Shearer,
76, a maternal aunt of Mrs. Earl Burris had funeral services at Monticello
Sunday afternoon after dying at a Louisville hospital last week. Mr. and
Mrs. Burris attended the funeral, and her daughter, Miss Bernice Shearer,
is staying with the Burris family for a while.
Funeral services for Mrs. Mattie Patterson, 75, were held at the Mt. Olive Christian Church on Friday of last week at 10 o'clock.
The Rev. Lloyd Keeney officiated at the services. Interment was at the Salyers Cemetery.
Death came to the Waynesburg resident at her home suddenly on Wednesday of last week.
She is survived by six sons; Carlos Patterson of Cincinnati; Norvin Patterson, Covington; Rev. Stanley Patterson, Cincinnati; Cecil Patterson, Cincinnati; Ray Patterson, Cincinnati; Hollie Patterson, Cincinnati. There are also 15 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Oscar Foley, Kings Mountain; and four stepchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Barker Ellis were held on Friday afternoon at the Liberty Methodist Church with Rev. Leo Lacy and assisted by Rev. Robert L. Scott of Stanford.
Mrs. Ellis was the daughter of William Drye and Ethel Grider Bryant. She was born in Liberty on October 25, 1902
She was married to Barker Ellis, who survives, in May 1922. They became the parents of two children, Mrs. Virginia Charles of Frankfort, and Mrs. F. D. Pettyjohn of Louisville. There are three grandchildren.
Death came to Mrs. Ellis at the McDowell Hospital at Danville of a rhumatic heart. Death came suddenly and unexpectedly, although she had been in the hospital for 16 days.
The Methodist quartet sang
at funeral. Interment was at Glenwood Cemetery.
Lucian Frank Young, 84, died at the McDowell Hospital in Danville where he had been for threeweeks on Monday morning of thisweek. Death was due to a heart condition and other illness which had been bothering him for abouta year.
Mr. Young was born in Liberty on October on 31, 1874, the son of William Douglas and Annie Prewitt Young. The home was where Brown Chevrolet Co. now is.
He received his education at Liberty and went two years to the University of Ky. He droppedschool to Volunteer for the Spanish American War, served in Puerto Rico, and was discharged as a sergeant.
Upon his discharge he spent two years running the flour Mill at Hustonville and another two years as assistant cashier of the People's Bank of Hustonville. He then went to Middleburg where he became assistant cashier under his brother and worked there from 1912 to 1936, when he retired.
Upon retirement he rebuilt and operated the Water Mill at Middleburg until about five years ago when he retired for good. At odd times he worked during rush periods for his two uncles, Pryor Young and George Prewitt, at the Commercial Bank at Liberty. He served as a deputy sheriff under Grant Elliott. He was assistant county court clerk under Simon Wesley.
He was active mason from the age of 21 and was secretary of the Middleburg Lodge for 25 years. He was treasurer of the Middleburg Independent School for about 25 years. He was an ardent Democrat, but never took an active part in political campaigns.
He was married to Betty King in 1905 and they became the parents of six children; five of whom survive. They are Ray Young, Datyon, Ohio; Miss Mary D. Young, of the home; Mrs. Ann Tucker, Lebanon; Mrs. Virginia Elliott, Danville; and Major W. "Bill" Young, Spokane, Wash. The eldest daughter, Mrs. Eleanor McWhorter died at the age of 21.
There are three surviving grandchildren.
Services were held at the Green River Christian Church on Wednesday afternoon with the Rev. James England officiating. Interment was in the Middleburg Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Sherman, Robert and Silas Elliott, Estil Lucas, Sherwood Wesley, and Clifton Colelough. Honorary pallbearers were Mack and Ray Elliott, Dr. C. B. Creech, Homer Short, Jason McAninch, and O. L. Johnson.

Delbert Evans, 5-year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilbert and Margaret Overstreet Evans died at the Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, D. C. on May 27.
He was born at Frankfurt, Germany, on January 30, 1955.
He is survived by his parents, three brothers, Dale, David, and Donnie; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Asa Evans and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Overstreet.
Funeral services were held at the Salem Methodist church on Sunday of this week. The Rev. Orvil Overstreet officiated. Interment was in the church cemetery.

Death came on Thursday of last week.
He was the son of Lewis and Pheobie Johnson Sharp, and was born on Nov. 29, 1878.
He was married to Lucy Ann Bernard, who survives, on April 14, 1901. They became the parents of 14 children, eight of whom survive.
The surviving children are Luther Sharp, Mrs. Mary Sallee, Elzie Sharp, Mrs. Frances Fair and Willie Sharp, all of the county; Robert Sharp, Cincinnati; and Mrs. Bessie Norvell and Istham Sharp of Orange, Ill. There are 15 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ella Richards, age 73, will be held Thursday morning of this week atThe Green River Valley Baptist Church. The Rev. O. C. Reece will officated. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
Death came to Mrs. Richards at 11 P.M. Tuesday night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Claud Bell, near Liberty. She had a heart attack in the morning and died suddenly that night.
She was the daughter of the late William and Lydia Johnson Miller and was born in this county. She was married to James Perry Richards, who died about four years ago.
She is survived by tow children, Mrs. Claud Bell (Mrs> Grace) and Leslie Richards of Cincinnati. There are six grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jack Bell, Carl Richards, and Mont, Harold, Gerald, and Ronnie Wethington.

Funeral services for Miss Mary Ann Rice, 69, have been set for Thursday afternoon at 2:00 P.M. at the Dunnville Christian Church. Rev. L. C. Young will officiate.
Death came to Miss Rice at 9:30 Tuesday night at the Casey County Hospital where she had been for the last month. She was a victim of luekemia.
The long-time Avon Products salesman and friend of everyone, had been ill for the last three or four years.
She was born on August 29, 1891, the daughter of John and Bell Cravens Rice. She lived her entire lifetime at Dunnville.
She was a member of the Eastern Star for 47 years.
She is survived by a brother, Ed Rice, of Buffalo Hart, Ill. Her next closest kin are cousins, which includes Sen. Otis C. Thomas.
Burial will be at Antioch.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth Ellen Grider, 64, were held at the Walnut Hill Baptist Church on Saturday of last week. Revs. Roger Popplewell and Calvin Fields officiated.
Mrs. Grider died at the McDowell Hospital at Danville following five or six years of illness. She had been suffering from a heart ailment. Death came on the 13th.
She was the daughter of Jasper and mattie Wilson Bell, and was born on September 13, 1896.
She was married to Josh Grider, who servives, on January 30, 1913, and became the mother of 15 children, six of whom survive.
The children are Delmer Grider, Lexington; Mrs. Decie Mason, Bryantsville; Mrs. Flora Lane, and Loyd, Denton, and Marvin Grider of this county. There are 21 grandchildren.
She is also survived by four brothers: Rastus, Raymond, and Vernice Bell, Greenwood, Ind., and Willie Bell, Cincinnati; four sisters: Mrs. Marie Thompson and Mrs. Patrie Seego, Greenwood, Ind., Mrs. Gertrude Thomas, Michigan, and Slathie.
Interment was in the church cemetery.

Funeral services for Herman Stafford, 72, were held at the Brush Creek Christian Church on Monday afternoon of this week. The Rev. L. C. Young officiated.
Death came to Mr. Stafford on Saturday morning at the Caey Hospital. He had been seriously ill for the last two years and was in and out of the hospital many times. He suffered a heart condition.
He was born on October 5, 1888, in Franklin County, the son of Newt and Lucy Gains Stafford. He came to what is now Wilson Ridge when he was five years old.
He was married to Mattie Zachary on May 22, 1910. She died on October 27, 1951.
They became the parents of eight children, six of whom survive. They are Mrs. Edna Vaught; Phil; William Thomas Stafford, Cincinnati; Mrs. June Ann Ward, Louisville; Mrs. Iola Buchannan, Cecil Earl and Forest Stafford, Liberty.
He is survived by a brother, Clarence Stafford, Mt. Olive; and a sister, Mrs. Ada Young, Botam, Texas. There were five brothers and two sisters in the original family. There are 13 grandchildren.
He worked for over 20 years with the State Highway Department on the county road crew. The remainder of the time he farmed. He retired in 1946 following a change of administration.
Interment was in the church

Funeral services for Mrs. Tilda C. McDonald, 63, were held at the Thomas Ridge Christian Church on Tuesday afternoon of this week. The Revs. Roger a Popplewell and Joe Peavley officiated.
Death came to Mrs. McDonald on Friday, Oct. 14 at her home.
She is survived by her husband, Luther McDonald, and the following children: Clarence, Phil; Odie, Harrodsburg; Lonzie, Pricetown;Truman, Phil; Cleo, U.S. Army in Germany; Freddie, Windsor; and Mrs. James Grimes, Burgin.
There are 16 surviving grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Becky Ann Murphy, Lexington; and Mrs. Margaret Gibson, Windsor, and a brother, Virgil D. Luttrell, Windsor.

Alexander "Alex" Wethington, 84, died at his home at Clementsville on the 19th, after being bedfast for two years.
He was born on May 2, 1876, the son of Urin Wethington and Susan Wethington at Clementsville.
He was first married to Miss Esther Wethington, who has died, and they became the parents of Alfred Wethington, Lebanon, Ind., and T. Oval Wethington, Clementsville. One son, James, has died.
His second marriage was to Mrs. Katie Woodrum Wethington, who survives. Surviving are these step-children: Carl Woodrum, Mrs. Mallie Clements and Wayne Woodrum; Cincinnati; Olin Woodrum and Mrs. Villa Clements, Clementsville; and Merle Woodrum, Lebanon, Ind.
There are nine grandchildren and 14 grandchildren. One brother, George Frank Wethington, Creston, survives.
Funeral mass was sung at
St. Bernard Church of which he was a member, on Friday mourning with interment
in the church cemetery.
Funeral services for Richard Andrew Lay, 70, were held at Carr's Chapel on Tuesday morning of this week. The Rev. Elmer Stevens officiated.
Death came to Mr. Lay on Saturday evening at the home of his son, Vernal Lay, at Midway. He suffered a stroke about three weeks before his death; prior to the stroke he had been in good health.
He was born in Casey County on November 22, 1889, the son of Luke and Nancy Long Lay. He grew up at Caney Fork, worked in Indianapolis for some 16 years, returned to Caney Fork, and for the last four years had been living in Liberty.
He was married to Belle Hughett in 1908, who preceded him in death five years ago. They became the parents of two children; Vernal Lay, Midway; and Mrs. Stanley Emerson, Liberty.
There are 11 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Mrs. tabitha Grubbs, Indianapolis; two half brothers, Bill and Aaron Lay, Cincinnati.
Interment was at Caney Fork

Isaac James McKinney, 63, resident of Waynesburg and for 40 years a signalman for the Southern Railroad died at the Somerset Hospital on Friday of last week. He suffered a heart condition.
He was born on May 24, 1897, the son, of Mitchell B. and Cordelia Cox McKinney.
He was married in 1926 to Miss Ruby Lane, and they became the parents of a daughter, Mrs. Edell Faye Durham of Yosemite.
He was married a second time to Neita Louise Upton, who survives. Other survivers are two grandchildren; two step children, F. A. Upton in the air force and Elaine Upton at home.
Other survivers include three brothers: Herman, Chicago, Ernest and Carl, New Castle, Ind.; three sisters, Mrs. Artha Mark, Mrs. Ruby Derby, New Castle; and Mrs. Nannie Johnson, Charlestown, Ind.

and James Hall officiating.
The funeral of Rev. Henderson Cary Moxley, 79, was held on Tuesday of this week at the Antioch Baptist Church at Creston. The Revs. O. C. Reese, Newell Hayes, Arvil Overstreet, and Coy Putteet officiated.
Death came to the well known farmer and minister on Saturday at the Ephraim McDowell Hospital at Danville. He had been suffering from a heart condition.
He was born on June 13, 1881, at Sparta, North Carolina, the son of Nathaniel and Christina Joines Moxley.
He was married to Nannie Belle McMillan on January 27, 1901; she preceded him in death on October 30, 1928. This union 11 children were born; nine survive.
He was married on August 9, 1929, to Vina Bryant, who survives, and they became the parents of three children, all of whom survive.
There are 39 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
He was converted at the age of 18 and became an ordained minister in 1909. For over 50 years he was an active minister.
He was one of the county's better farmers and remained active at this until his death. Among his outstanding accomplishments was to educate his 13 living children to the capacity of their interests.
Surviving children are: Talmadge Moxley, Philadelphia, Pa.; Ross Moxley, Creston; Mrs. Mable Hayes, Campbellsville; Mrs. Eula Hayes, Route 2, Liberty; Wyatt Moxley, North Salem, Ind.; Dr. Clisby Moxley and Travis Moxley, Gainesville, Fla.; John Moxley, Campbellsville; Olivest Moxley, Creston; Mrs. Kate Carpenter, Philadelphia, Pa.; Mrs. Evangeline Currg. Edinburg, Ind.; and Mrs. Nannie Braddock, Jacksonville, Fla.
Interment was at the Roley Cemetery where Masonic rites were offered.

Dr. Raymond D. Drukker, 63, executive assistant to the president of Berea College died Sunday after a 2-month illness.
In this county he was well acquainted due to being chairman of the Applachian Foundation and was indirectly in charge of the Casey Hospital for about three years.
He was director of Annville Institute, a minister, and active in many activities connected with youth. A tireless worker, he kept a close tab on the hospital, and made numerous trips in its welfare after it was turned back to the county.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Julia Drukker, and a son, Dow M. Drukker, research consulant at the University of Pennsylvania.

Monday night.
Funeral services for Thomas McClosky Goode, 77, will be held at the Gum Lick Christian Church on Friday afternoon at 1:00 o'clock. Burial will be at the Belton Cemetery.
The Revs. L. C. Young and Harry Sinks will officiate at the funeral for the former Riffe Creek resident.
Mr. Goode died at the Kentucky State Hospital near Danville early Wednesday morning.
Survivers include two daughters, Mrs. Ilda Ellis and Mrs. Orene Patton, both of Dunnville; and Kermit Goode, Cincinnati; a sister, Mrs. Clara Abell, Campbellsville, three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Unless other arrangements
are made the body will remain at the Gosser McKinney Funeral Home until
time for the funeral.
Roe Thomas Absher, 78, died at the Casey Hospital on Saturday evening following a long illness. He had been a tubercular victim, but he died of other causes.
He was born on April 24, 1882, the son of Joshua and Mary Jane Thomas Absher and was born in this county.
He is survived by his wife and four children. The children are Mrs. Mary Gregory, Danville; Mrs. Pauline Miller, Clementsville; and Mrs. Ruth Reese and Mrs. Gracie Whited, both Cincinnati. There are five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services were at
Salem on Monday morning with the Rev. Arvil Overstreet officiating. Burial
was at Riffe Creek. Bartle Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Logan west whose home is across the line in Adair near Barnett's Creek died Saturday night from a blow. The incident happened in Cincinnati at a bar operated by Ros Gaddis, formerly from Casey. The bar is located on Spring Grove Avenue in Northside.
Being held is Raymond Vanoy of Creston.
According to reports Vanoy and a man going by the name of "Big Mack" were at each other in or near the bar Gaddis operates. West stepped between the men in an effort to stop them. In doing so he was struck on the head by a bumper jack or some such instrument. He was probably struck unitentially.
Details are confused about
the entire matter and this report may be somewhat inaccurate.
Mrs. Mary Ethel Coleman Feather, daughter of Alonza and Etta Gifford Coleman, and sister of the late Clarence Coleman, died at the age of 77 on August 11 at Campbellsville. She was a native of Casey.
She was married to Jesse Barlow in 1906, who died about five years later. She was married again 18 years ago to R. S. Feather, who died in 1955.
Surviving is a daughter, Miss Hazel Barlow of Campbellsville. A son, Forest, died in 1946. Two step-sons, Leonard Feather, Lebanon, and Forest Feather, Louisville; and step-daughter, Mrs. Lottie Knopp, Dayton, Ohio, survive.
Services were held Sunday
afternoon at the Middleburg Baptist Church with Dr. Chester Badgett officiating.
Interment was at Middleburg.
Mrs. Mary Wellman Turpin,
52, died on August 5, at a Chicago Hospital following a short siege of
pneumonia. Dhe and Mr. Turpin have made their home near Chicago for several
years. A native of Lexington, she is survived by her husband, Eugene Turpin,
formerly of this county, a daughter by a previous marriage, Mrs. T. M.
Morgan; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Wellman, two sisters and a brother,
all of Lexington.
Junior Ray Terry, 27, died on Thursday of last week following an automobile accident in Cincinnati where he lived.
The accident happened on Anthony Wayne Avenue near the Carthage Fairgrounds. Terry was coming home from work. His car, for unexplained reasons, rammed into a utility pole. The car was totally demolished. Terry died almost immediately.
Terry was born August 26, 1934, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Marion Terry of Dunnville, now Cincinnati. Both survive.
He was married to Wanda Fay Brown of Woodrum Ridge, who survives. They have two small sons, Donald Dean and Rickie Jean.
Also surviving are five brothers, Otha and Donald of Cincinnati; Otis of Dunnville; and Jean and Roy of Midway. There are five sisters: Miss Rose Terry, Cincinnati; Mrs. Agnes Morgan; Mrs. Lorene Sims and Mrs.Pauline Allen, Liberty, and Miss Norma Jean Terry, Liberty.
Funeral services were held at the Green River Valley Church Sunday afternoon with the Revs. Oval Smith and Everett Brockman officiating. Burial was in the Church cemetery.

She was born in Wayne County on July 12, 1906, the daughter of John W. and Annie E. Luttrell Mcfarland.
She was married to Ernest Lee Griffith on May 23, 1926. Mr. Griffith survives.
She is survived by four children: Willie Lewis Griffith, Franklin, Ind.; Mrs. Annabelle Riddell, Ft. Chaffee, Ark.; Mrs. Lucinda Browning, Lexington; and Mrs. Kathleen Cochran, McFarland Ridge.
Also surviving are these brothers and sisters; Floyd McFarland, Liberty; W. F. McFarland, Clementsville; Dewey McFarland, Louisville; Ellis McFarland, Lebanon; Hubert McFarland, Lexington; Mrs. Mollie Beldon, Liberty; and Mrs. Grace Parris, Louisville.

Mrs. Langford died after declining health at the Casey Hospital on Friday night. She was born on February 14, 1883, at Huntsville, Tenn., the daughter of John and Elizabeth Brown Hughett.
She was married to Thomas Langford, who died in 1951.
Surviving are five of her seven sons: John and A. C. Langford rural Liberty; Warren and William Langford, Franklin, Ind.; Elmer Langford, Midway. Roy was killed in an automobile accident, and George was killed in service.
There are 18 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. She leaves a brother, Gene Hughett, now living in Florida.

He was born in Russell County on June 26, 1903, the son of Addie E. and Verlisie Hatfield Hopper, both deceased.
He was married to Maude Davenport on January 27, 1932. She survives.
He was the father of Arvis C. Hopper, Cincinnati; Mrs. Eva Ruth Luttrell, Taylorville, Ind.; and Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Emerson, Mintonville. There are eight grandchildren.
He was a brother of Alfred Hopper, Liberty; Rufus C. Hopper, Cincinnati; Mrs. Mae Walker, Monticello; Mrs. Lucy Adams, Cincinnati; Mrs. Jewel Bray, Illinois; and Mrs. Treva Clements, Cincinnati.

He was born on May 15, 1889, in Adair County near Creston, on May 15, 1889, the son of John and Rhoda Brown Rainwater.
He was first married to Lucy Carter. His second marriage was to Mrs. Bertha Tedder Knight, who survives.

Funeral services for Mrs. Hattie King, 77, were held at the Poplar Grove Baptist Church on Friday afternoon of last week. The Rev. Raymond Kempf officiated.
Death followed a heart attack at her home on Woodrum Ridge on April 12, 1967.
She was born in this county on December 7, 1889, the daughter of James and Kae Cox Hines. She was married to John Robert King who died in 1959.
Her closest surviver is a foster daughter, Mrs. Hazel Hale of Liberty.
Burial was at the Poplar

Josiah Wesley, born March 29, 1876 to William Green and Sarah Godbey Wesley at Bethelridge, Casey County, Ky., died April 13, 1967 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Lena Wiles at Middleburg.
On November 19, 1895 he married Mary Susan Hines of Pulaski County. From their eleven children, eight survive: Mrs. Alma Jones, Eubank; Mrs. Delia Ashley, Radcliff; Mrs. Luella Watson, Bethelridge; Mrs. Esther Coffman, Glasgow; Mrs. Lena Wiles, Middleburg; Morris Wesley, Fairfield, Ohio; Mrs. Vestal Wesley, Hartwell, Ohio; and Mrs. Floris Garrett of Maude, Ohio.
He also leaves three sisters, Mrs. Ethel Cundiff of Liberty, Mrs. Ibby Dick of Science Hill, and Mrs. Anna Wardrip of Middleburg; 39 grandchildren; 86 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren. There are 153 descendants in all.

Death came to Mrs. Nettie Salyers Floyd on April 13, at age 67. She was born February 22, 1900, the daughter of Adam and Emily Salyers.
She was married to German Floyd on December 9, 1923.
Surviving are five children: Lester, Lelus, Leslie, and Lloyd Floyd, and Mrs. Emily Lou Reynolds; there are 13 grandchildren; a brother, Vencil Salyers, and a sister, Mrs. Lettie Stephens.
Services were held on Saturday afternoon of last week at the Mt. Olive Christian Church with the Rev. Lloyd Keeney officiating. Burial was at Salyers Cemetery.

Funeral services for Mrs. Priscilla Adams, 77, were held at Carr Chapel Church of God on Saturday afternoon with the Rev. Elmer Stephens officiating.
Death came on the 12th at the John Graves Ford Hospital at Georgetown where she had been visiting with a daughter. She had been bedfast for several years.
She was born on June 9, 1889, the daughter of George and Lizzie Peck Atwood.
She was married to Archie Adams on December 23, 1907 (the year should be 1906). He survives.
She was the mother of Howard Adams, Martinsville, Ind.; Johnny Adams, Versailles; Robert Adams, Lexington; Mrs. Mae Edwards and Mrs. Stella Carr, Liberty; and Mrs. Catherine Stafford, Lexington. Three children have died.
There are 41 grandchildren and 65 great-grandchildren.
She was a sister of Daniel B. Atwood, Melvin Atwood, and Mrs. Cora Lay of the county, and Rosa Cochran of Jeffersonville, Ind.
Burial was at Caney Fork

Benton Debord, son of the late Silas and Alice Gent Debord, was born in Bethelridge in August of 1895. He attended school here. He was the brother of Myrtle Steward, Berlin and Jack Debord, all surviving.
He was a veteran of world War I, was shell-shocked over seas, returned to Louisville where he was treated, and soon was much better. In the late teens he returned to Casey County and married Sarah Jones, a schoolmate. To this union were born four sons, one died in infancy.
He returned to Louisville and took the examination for postal clerk, a position he held until about two years ago.
He died in his sleep Sunday
night, Jan. 14, 1968. He leaves the three brothers and sister, his three
children, and his wife of over 47 years.
Mrs. Versa A. Singleton, born 67 years ago to George and Martha Bell Baldock at Calvary Ridge, Casey County, died January 4 at the Somerset City Hospital. She lived at Kings Mountain and was a member of the Christian Church. The funeral service was held there and interment was in the Grove Ridge Cemetery.
She was the mother of Mrs. Harold McLaren, Fort Thomas, Mrs. John Grey Elliott, McKinney, Winfred Singleton, Southgate, and Revelle Singleton, Kings Mountain; and the grandmother of twelve.
She was the sister of Mrs.
Sadie Wheeler, Hustonville; Mrs. Vada Statham, and Hershel Baldock, Yosemite;
Mrs. Gladys Ellison, Chester Baldock and Aron Baldock, Cincinnati.
Funeral services for Mrs. Lillie Long, 83, were held at the Bartle Funeral Home on Saturday afternoon of last week. Rev. Aubrey Eckenroth officiated.
Death came at the Danville Hospital on the 18th. She had been there for five months.
She was born in Scott County on February 4, 1884, the daughter of William Harvey and Ellen True Fights.
She was married to Albert Long in July 1916. He survives. There are no children.
She was a sister of Mrs. Sadie Taylor, Mrs. Birtie Hall, and Jess Fights, all of Liberty.

Funeral services for Joe Chaffin, 79, were held at the Denny Funeral Home at Somerset on February 1, with the Rev. Sidgle Sears officiating.
Death came at Somerset where he had been living 24 years. He lived in Yosemite several years.
He was born at Point Pleasant, W.V., April 20, 1888. He came to Casey County shortly after his marriage to May Smith, who survives.
He was the fayher of Roy Chaffin, Elwood, Ind.; Mrs Emogene Randolph, Grove Ridge; Mrs. Delores Whitis, Science Hill; Mrs. Mildred Bell, Mrs. Christine Dunbar, and Mrs. Juanita Dykes, Somerset. He had a brother, Everett Chaffin at Indianapolis.
Burial was in the Somerset
Cemetery.
Elmer Langford, 60, died on January 25, at hte Woodford Hospital at Versailles. He had been ill a week. He had been living there 17 years. He was a nightwatchman.
He was born on June 15, 1907, the son of Thomas and Florence Hughett in this county.
He was first married to Linnie Woodrum, who died, and second to Rosa Mae Whited, who survives.
He was the father of Mrs. Christine Phelps, Liberty; Helen Langford, Versailles; Bobby Langford, Lexington; Lewell Langford, Midway; and a stepson, Paul Whited, Midway.
He was a brother of John and A. C. Langford, Liberty; William Langford, Franklin, Ind.; and Warren Langford, Versailles.
Services were held at the
bartle Funeral Home on January 27, with Rev. Arvil Overstreet. Burial was
at the Caney Fork Cemetery.

She was born in Adair County June 5, 1881, the daughter of Thomas and Edna East Cundiff. She was married to Rutherford B. Neat in Columbia in 1900. He died on October 10, 1966.
She was the mother of Mrs. Gertrude Grant, Indianapolis; Mrs. Flora Ewing, Cincinnati; Charlie Neat, Lexington; Bruce Neat, Cincinnati; Mrs. Kate Dattilo, Cincinnati; Mrs. Irene Branson, Louisville; Rollin and Wilbur Neat, Dunnville; Mrs. Bessie Ronanello, Cincinnati; and James Neat of Louisville. Stanley and Ray Neat are deceased.
There are 33 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
She was the brother of Ed Cundiff of Dunnville; and Sam Cundiff of Peoria, Ill.
Burial was at the Tabernacle Cemetery in Adair County.

Mrs. Brenda Sue Lane, 22, Moreland Route 1, died Aug. 8th in the Cumberland Medical Center, Crossville, Tenn. of injuries sustained in an automobile accident on the 7th.
She was born July 5, 1946 in Casey County at Butchertown. She was a graduate of Casey High in 1964.
Surviving are her husband Lowell Arnold Lane; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Swearingen, Rt. 1, Moreland; son Timmy Lane, 3; sisters Mrs. Horace Durham, Cincinnati; Mrs. Hershel Maddox, Rt. 1. Moreland; and brother Chester Edward Swearingen, Rt. 1, Moreland.

held August 10 at Pruitt Funeral Home, Moreland. Interment was in Hustonville

Lebanon Hospital on July 31st. Services and burial were at Chestnut Grove

Death came on Saturday morning at the McDowell Hospital at Danville where he had been from February 20.

He was married to Pricilla Atwood on December 23, 1907 (the year should be 1906). She passed away April 12, 1967.
He was the father of Howard Adams, Martinsville, Ind.; Johnny Adams, Greenfield, Ind.; Robert Adams, Lexington; Mrs. Edwards and Mrs. Stella Carr, Liberty; and Mrs. Catherine Stafford, Lexington. Three children, Ollie Buck, Mable Davis, and Eula Adams are deceased.

Nancy Ellen Derringer, 66, died in Cincinnati on April 10. She was a native of this county and was born on February 25, 1904, the daughter of John and Sarah Sanders Derringer.
She was the mother of Mrs. Beatrice Virginia Prewitt, Cincinnati, and one granddaughter.
She was a sister of Mrs. Amanda Goode, Liberty; Mrs. Rebecca Lee, Dunnville; Mrs. Florence Patton Dunnville; Mrs. Jessie Johnson, Peebles, Ohio; and James Derringer, Liberty.
Services were held at the
Bartle Funeral Home on Tuesday morning of this week with the Rev. James
G. Powell officiating. Burial was at the salem Cemetery.
Ace P. Coffman, 59, died at his home on July 23 after an illness of about six months.
He was born on January 16, 1911, the son of Tompsy and Nettie Peyton Coffman. He was married to Ada Marie Peck on April 27, 1942 (they were married May 27, 1941). She survives.
He was a veteran of World War II.
He was the father of Mrs. Nettie Edwards, and Misses Marietta and Margaret Coffman, Liberty; and Mrs. Bernicce Phelps, Indiana. There are three grandchildren.
He was a brother of Archie Coffman of Clementsville and Mrs. Flossie McDade, Griggsville, Ill.
Services were held on Saturday at Atwood Chapel Methodist Church with the Rev. Leonard Streeval officiating. Burial was at the Tapscott Cemetery.
