The Bourbon County Kentucky
Genealogical Society was formed on November 20, 2003. The
Board and the membership work hard to create an organization to be
proud of and to rival the longer standing societies of our area.
If you have genealogical ties to Bourbon County, KY, we invite you
to become a member of our Society.

We aim to promote interest and
encourage people who have an interest in genealogical research in
Bourbon County, Kentucky. We aim to cooperate to the highest
level possible with other societies that are actively interested in
genealogical preservation. We aim to collect and preserve
cemetery records, Bible records, military records, government
records, vital statistic records and other records and other records
relating to genealogical preservation.

Naming
the Forgotten - The Eastern State Hospital Project
Naming the Forgotten,
a special project within the KyGenWeb, is working to
gather the names of those who lived and died at
Eastern State Hospital, formerly the Eastern State
Lunatic Asylum, prior to 1956. It is suspected that
the hospital cemetery may hold as many as 10,000
unmarked graves. Anyone with information to assist in this endeavor
please contact
Mary Hatton.
