"Dick" Umscheid, 92, died June 11, 2005, at Topeka; born March 5, 1913 to Joseph and Alice (Lelievre) Umscheid; married to Edith Parry on Feb. 17, 1942; survived by his wife; one brother, F. of Leavenworth and many nieces and nephews; preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, Paul, Harold, Bernard, Ben, Arthur and Bob; and two sisters, Leona O'Brien and Cecelia Simmer; burial in Bala Cemetery (JCU)

Vanek, Agnes, was born Dec. 9, 1903, in Riley County, the daughter of John and Mary (Cleborad) Vanek; she died Friday, Feb. 2, 2001, at Clay Center; preceded in death by five brothers, and survived by a brother, K. Vanek of Marion; burial in Carnahan Creek Cemetery at Garrison (CCT)

Vogelsang, Idabelle was born July 7, 1914, at Washington, Kan., the daughter of Emmett and Ida (Hammacker) Sliger; she died Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2002 in Manhattan; married Walter Vogelsang April 29, 1939, and he preceded her in death Oct. 2, 1986; also preceded by a sister; survived by a daughter, J. Neipert and husband of Manhattan; two brothers, E. Sliger of San Jose, Calif., and I. Sliger of Vallejo, Calif.; a sister, G. Salmans of Larned; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; burial in Randolph Fancy Creek Cemetery north of Randolph (CCT)
