Leo M. Taylor, 74, of Leonardville, died Aug. 1, 2003, in Topeka; born Dec. 6, 1928, at Keats, the son of Lloyd and Margaret (Whittaker) Taylor; married Marci Tarver on June 14, 1986, at Carson City, Nev.; survived by his wife; by one daughter, M. Ray of Union City, Calif.; one brother, G. Taylor of Junction City; one sister, E. Carr of Silver Lake; and one grandson, S. Taylor of Leonardville. (JCU)
Miss Thompson Dies Saturday (May 6, 1944)
Miss Mabel Thompson, 57, who has been ill for a long time, died at 6 p.m. Saturday at her home in Manhattan. She was the owner of the Thompson tourist home there since the death of her father a few years ago.
She had lived in Manhattan for 30 years coming from a farm near Garrison.
Miss Thompson is survived by two brothers, B.R. Thompson of Garrison, and Prof. C.P. Thompson of Stillwater, OK in addition to others living further away.
She was a member of the First Methodist Church. (abstract MM)
Arlene F. Thurlow, 54, of Riley, died June 29, 2004, at Riley; burail in the Sedalia Cemetery, west of Manhattan; born April 2, 1950, at Manhattan, the daughter of Wayne and Imogene (Stettnisch) Davis; married June 7, 1969, at Riley to Steven Thurlow, who survives; preceded in death by her father, Wayne L. Davis in 1985; also survived by two sons, A. Thurlow and wife C. of Manhattan, and M. Thurlow and wife K. of Leonardville; mother, I. Wolfe and stepfather F. of Riley; one brother, R. Davis and wife B. of Ellsworth; two sisters, S. Bryson of Olathe and N. Jean Davis of Overland Park; and five grandchildren.

Toburen, George G. was born Jan. 14, 1913, at Randolph, the son of Fred and Eliza (Oberhelman) Toburen; he died Wednesday, Nov., 17, 1999, at his home in Riley; married Nelle Vogelsang April 11, 1946; preceded in death by a son and six brothers; survived by his wife, three sisters, E. Lamb of Lee's Summit, Mo., N. Johnson of Gallatin, Mo., and R. Jones of Olathe; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson; burial in the Randolph Fancy Creek Cemetery north of Randolph. (abstract MM)

three sisters; survived by a daughter, C. Peterson and husband of Waterville; a brother, W. Llewelyn of Riley; a granddaughter; and two great-granddaughters; burial at Riverside

Trumpp, Opal J., was born April 13, 1936, at Leonardville, the daughter of Ezra and Alta (Sand) Bohnenblust; she died Leonardville, Wednesday, Dec. 15, 1999; married Arlan Trumpp April 12, 1953, and he survives of the home; also survived by two daughters, B. Lankford and husband of Houston, Texas, and V. Copeland and husband of Riley; two brothers, D. Bohnenblust of Topeka and L. Bohnenblust of Riley; and four grandchildren; burial in the Leonardville United Methodist Cemetery (abstract CCT)
