1935 Pow Wow

"Hunky Dories"
1st row—Sue Shotwell, Jo Collins, Edith Roesler, Avanell Sylvester, lack Swensson, Max Elser, Harold Langvardt, Robert Miller.
2nd row—Irene Bridgeforth, Mildred Kirkland, Gail McLaughlin, Katherine Stafford, Eunice Wiley. Ruth Gfeller, Fern Anderson, Genevieve Tucker.

4th row—Lawrence Kelley, Clyde Peterson, Charles Armour, Carl Ware, Jack
Milliken.
5th row—Oscar Brott, Malcolm Tibbitts, Bud Kenney, Dean Bright. Kena Cook-was not in the picture.
Edith Roesler of the first row has the distinction of being the ringleader of the pianists.
That's awful isn't it Jack? We'll change the sun for you Mr. Swensson!
Talking about musicians, Robert Miller, cellist, and Eunice Wiley, pianist, are climbing high. Eunice played for the junior high operetta. Not to be forgotten is Charles Zoschke, ace musician and trackster.
Dorothy Morton has that certain look of anyone but a debater. O, well, Dorothy, live and learn.

"Ions"
1st row--Carolyn Humphrey, Edna Myers. Doris Aberwald, Anna Rupert, Dora Reppart, Charles Hoyt. Bobby Norris. Carl David Bievert.
2nd row—Patricia Eisenhower, Mary Louise Heavey, Gene Sloyer, Aubrey Henning, Ross Zerby.
3rd row--—Bettie Fogelstrom, Phyllis Hall, Nellie Harvey, Alvin Hauserman, Bill Smiley.
4th—Lucille Acker, Betty Smith, Lucille Roediger, Evelyn Rush, Raymond Gormley, Harry Kruger, Earl Filby. Frank Gerlecz, Arthur Langvardt, Ted Sullivan, Viola Neilson, and Kverett Lallis were not in the picture.
Gee, this is interesting!—an intelligent looking "bunch" don't you think? Edna Myers standing beside a dear friend of hers, namely Carolyn Humphrey, was on the debate team, and not so bad at that! Anna Rupert also rated a team berth on debate. Charles Hoyt, the one with the blond curly locks, played the part of an elderly gentleman in the operetta—would you believe it? Now Pat E., won't you lead us in some of those soul stirring, er-blood-curding schcol veils? and there's Gene standing nearby to help you, but don't disturb that tempermental soprano, Mary Louise Heavey standing between you. What's the joke Bettie? You've evidently been telling Phyllis Hall, who incidentally, had the second lead in the operetta; and Nellie Harvey, that "remarkable Chemistry student." "We football heroes must stick together," say Alvin Hauserman and Bill Smiley, Jr. "We are doing quite well too". Wonder why they put two Lucilles on the back row! Perhaps they have something in common. Art Langvardt and Everett Lallis were too bashful to have their pictures taken but they both played basketball for J. C. H. S.

"Blue Dragons and the Jones Boys"
1st Row: Irma Barnett, La Vere Boline, Frances Murphy, Bonnie Perry. Pauline Olson, David Cohen. Robert Rose
2nd row: Cora Louise Higgins, Cecil Smith, Maxine Baker, Temple Raemer,
Dorothy Anderson, James Kerby, George Mailen
3rd Row: Sylvester North. Betty Irwin, Jean Ann Lambert. Helen Louise Olsson, Gladys Talley, Fred Dietrick.
4th Row: John Miller, Bob Baity, Arthur Hinkle, Mr. Embree, Harry Gamble,
Henry Sand.
It seems the boys and girls just couldn't compromise on a name so they are kncwn as the Blue Dragon's and the Jones Boys.
Ladies and gentlemen we want you to meet that great librarian, Mr. Raymond Embree, standing in the back row. Number four, please! This group is really talented and full of pep. Watch for them next year! Could you imagine anyone with such a sweet disposition as Bonnie Perry?
Or Dorothy Anderson?
Bonnie Olson, pardon the nickname but it slipped out, leads the school band and very nicely, too. Wasn't Francis Murphy cute in "Oh, Professor"? She should go a long way.
Oh, yes! Harry Gamble is quite the man about town, besides being a lady's man he debates and is some actor. Arthur Hinkle certainly surprised us with such nice acting in "Am I Intruding?" Henry Sand starred in basketball last season and please, please, remember Fred Dietrick as the good-natured janitor in "Oh! Professor." Although she isn't pictured we'd like to remind you of Dixie Lee O'Connor, Fifi to you! She certainly can imitate those exotic little Fiench gals!

"Wildcats"
1st row—-Billy Burris, Quellen Boller. Lucille Collins, Sara Fields, Helen McVay, Mary Belle Howery, Mae Culliam, Russell Shaw.
2nd row—Patricia Christy, Lillian Glick, Dorothy Sumner, Viola Lee, Clara Ross, Ruby Baughman.
3rd row—Emily Ann McDonald, Mabel Otis, Frances Roffe, Jane Whittaker, Jacqueline Stewart, Jack Barry. John Ain.
4th row—John Case, Charles Murphy, Arthur Bnnver, William Roger, Robert Glueck, Paul Pross, Raymond Noches, Raymond Smith.
Reallv folks they're not as wild as the name might imply, but they are nice looking, don't you think?
Sara Fields, and Dorothy Stunner are those pretty little damsels who flitted in and out during the junior elass play. Sara finally got her man, too, even though he was disguised at first as a girl. Jane Whittaker was pleasing, too.
Quellen Boller may some day be a great debater, he certainly did well this year, at least. Oh, by the way, Frances Roffe is the president of this home room.
And take a look at the handsome Romeo in the back row. It's none other than John Case, the leading man in "Oh, Professor." And don't forget Jack Barry, the villian, for his performance in the All School Play, "Am I Intruding?" Raymond Noches made a remarkable record in track this year, too. And can Emily Ann McDonald play the violin? Have her serenade you sometime. Miss Marguerite Bignall, oh, you know her, she sponsored this up and coming group of juniors.
Some how or other, Jack Wheeler, Ruth Dowdall, Althea Knowlton, and Ralph Hood didn't make it in time to have their pictures snapped.
