The objectives of the Society shall be:

     - To provide research facilities and materials to anyone interested in history and genealogy and to offer training classes in genealogy.
    
     - To receive, collect, purchase, and preserve historical manuscripts, books, records and family histories and make them available to researchers.
    
     - To extract, compile and publish information and indexes from local records, such as land, probate and vital records, cemetery records and
       census records in order to make them more accessible.
    
      - To promote publicity and interest in the rich heritage of Sumner County, its historic sites and early settlers by providing historical programs,
         tours and published information.

      - To operate the Chisholm Trail History and Genealogy Center as a means to further these objectives.
