Comments:	Hello Shirley, I am writing on behalf of a director of Warsaw Uprising Museum (and my uncle) who asked me to find family of Lt. Paul Hibbard, about whom you have mentioned on your site. I noticed couple more websites posting about Heroes of World War II, but none of them provided me with any contact information for further research. I live in US in St. Louis, MO, and I promised my uncle to do my best to find any connections with family of deceased hero. The reason of this research is, that the Warsaw Museum desires to expand list of American Heroes who fought in WWII to help free Warsaw. Lt. Paul Hibbard was shot by German Messershmidt after he himself shot down 5 airplanes. Parts of his air plane were found in nearby country side by Warsaw and stored as a memorial. The Museum would like to put Paul's HIbbard's name on the board and to read his honors on the annual national Memorial day in September. This is very serious and uplifting event and in order to honor heroes, the Museum needs to get in touch with families and obtain their permission. In the early 50s Bob and Lee Ives were friends of my parents, Ed and Dorothy Butcher. I remember spending a lot of time at Bob and Lee's house at 1414 North 43rd in K.C.K. He is listed in the Grand Army of the Republic as a Captain in the 37th Missouri Calvary during the Civil War. He married a sister of my great grandmother; she was Sarah Sevilla Russell. They were married May 16, 1872 in Cook County, IL.

We were told by my grandmother and other elders of Dobson, N.C. that he conducted the funeral of the Siamese twins. I am very aware of who Bud McCracken was, and my grandmother, formally Jesse Mccracken and later (Behrendt)and (daughter of one of Bud's daughter's Blanche) rest there as well. Comments:	Great web site! I am looking for any information on my GG Granfather John R. Eldred who I believe lived in the area near Medicine Lodge after the Civil War. He is listed on the veterans page as J.R. Eldred Co.D 21st Illinois for the 1879 reunion, the year before he died. Apparently there was a GAR Lodge in ML named for him as well. I also know that his widow married into the Doles family after his death, another family listed on these pages. Any info about his life in Kansas would fascinate me. Comments:	Hi, I accidently ran across this site while doing some genology research on my family the Lasswells,I'm from southern illinois and my father was a banker and post master in a small town in Hamilton county Illinois with the name walpole, the old post office in this picture resembles the old post office my father was post master at and the banker all in one building.
