For the purpose of this list, Gippsland is that area of the state of Victoria, Australia, east of Dandenong (an eastern suburb of Melbourne), north of the coast, south of the Great Dividing Range, through to the North South Wales border. The main towns include Warragul, Leongatha, Korumburra, Traralgon, Sale, Bairnsdale and Orbost. European occupation of this area generally began about 1835.
