PHILIP SCHOFF CHAPTER
The chapter was organized 30 March 1911 by Mrs.
Wilbur F. Winchester and may have been the first chapter in the state. It was
reorganized in 1951. Chapter was named for Philip Schoff
who enlisted in the 3d Regiment of the Ohio Militia and fought at the Indian
village of Georgtown. He had enlisted in 1794 under
General George Washington to quell the Whiskey Insurrection and was the
youngest soldier of the American Revolution.
