PHILIP SCHOFF CHAPTER

The chapter was organized 30 March 1911 by Mrs. Wilbur F. Winchester and may have been the first chapter in the state. It was reorganized in 1951. Chapter was named for Philip Schoff who enlisted in the 3d Regiment of the Ohio Militia and fought at the Indian village of Georgtown. He had enlisted in 1794 under General George Washington to quell the Whiskey Insurrection and was the youngest soldier of the American Revolution.
