Huntington County IN Greenwood Cemetery A new plat map of Greenwood Cemetery was drawn by the County Historical Society in 1972. Neither deeds or receipts were given with the purchase of the lots. The number of graves on each plot was not given, nor was the size given. A number of the graves date back over a century. The oldest recorded gravestone is that of Harriet Chambers, born in 1845 and died in 1846. She was the daughter of David (1817-1870) and Hester (1821-1907) Chambers. Another notable marker was that of Catherine Mize who died Oct. 29, 1866 at the age of 105. Greenwood was located on one of the oldest routes in the county. It is south of Huntington between the present Business IN 9 & 37 and the Huntington Bypass IN 9 &37.
