There are three extant cemeteries and three obliterated/relocated cemeteries located within Liberty Township, Porter County, Indiana. These cemeteries have been read several times over the past fifty years. The first death and burial of a non-native in Liberty Township is believed to be that of Susanna (Spencer) Hughart, who died in October 1835 and was buried in or near Gossett-Hageman Cemetery.

Note that the Northwest Indiana Genealogical Society has indexed all cemeteries located within Porter County, Indiana. This assists in establishing possible relationships between individuals, especially those buried adjacent or near one another.
