Charleston Carnegie Public Library Addition & Remodel
The new addition to the library is open!!
Entrance to the Library is from the parking lot on the west side of the new addition.
The Genealogical collection is temporarly located on the second floor in the adult area.
When the old section is remodeled it will moved to where the children's section was located.
No doubt this will be a great place for research.
Newspapers on Microfilm Project
Total receipts to May 2008, for this project now total $38,591.
Newest additions include:
Charleston, IL Times Courier for 2007
Kansas, IL Newspapers, three reels 1879 thru 1977. Some editions are missing. These papers include some news from Ashmore, IL
To complete the project, about $12,000 is still needed.
Since this is quite a costly project, there is still need of more financial support.
Donations are still being requested.
Pioneer Certificate Project
If you are a DIRECT DESCENDANT of an ancestor who settled in Coles Co. Prior to 1880 you could qualify.
