PUTNAM COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY - AGRIGULTURAL MUSEUM
Currently under construction, the Ag Museum is located approximately 1/4 Mile east of the Pulsifer House at 501 Old Hwy 26. It will be the home of antique farm equipment, a permanent exhibit on the history of corn in the United States, a permanent exhibit on the Illinois River and area wildlife and many other exhibits too numerous to mention.
While no regular hours have been established, the museum is available by appointment and at least once a year in the fall for our annual open house.
1/20/2005 - We have just received notification that we have been awarded a $500.00 grant by the Illinois Association of Museums for the construction of a schoolroom and kitchen area in our Ag Museum. We are very excited about this grant and construction is starting immediately with completion scheduled by April 1, 2005.
8/20/2005 – Our annual open house at the Ag Museum features our new schoolroom and kitchen.
More information will be given as it becomes available.
