"IF OUR PAST IS TO HAVE A FUTURE...WE MUST PRESERVE IT NOW."
Who are we: Organized on March 17, 1963 with 30 Charter Members and Mrs. Walter (Mary) Griffith as the first president. Our membership now numbers over 600 from across the country dedicated to keeping the history of this county alive through education, restoration and genealogy.
Where are we: In 1978 a 99-year lease was acquired for Pulsifer House. Located at 327 Old Hwy 26 in Hennepin, IL.
We are open Wednesdays and Fridays from
10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., call or e-mail
us for availability of other days or times. Call 815-925-7560 and leave a
message or call any of the board members, see listing above. In case of bad weather, if the
Putnam County Schools are closed, we are also closed.
We are in urgent need of volunteers. Most of our volunteers have been with us for many years and have given freely of their time and talents, but Father Time is making it necessary for them to move on. We need a few good souls who are willing to do some light office work and/or light housekeeping to keep the house in a good state. Anyone interested, man or woman, please contact any of the board members, call and leave a message on our answering machine, or contact us by e-mail at PCHS61327@Yahoo.com.
