Gooding County was created in 1913 from Lincoln County. In the 1880's it was part of Alturas County, which no longer exists. The County seat is Gooding, which was named for pioneer sheep rancher and US Senator Frank Robert Gooding.
Gooding County has an area of 733 square miles which includes the communities of Bliss, Gooding, Hagerman and Wendell. More information about Gooding County.
