Kauffman

Kauffman, E.C. (p. 530)

Edward C. Kauffman was born 2 March 1879 in Fillmore Co., Nebraska, son of Joseph and Mary E. (Dennis) Kauffman. The father was b. in Pennsylvania and the mother in Louisa County. In June 19902, he married Pearl I. Parsons, a native of Columbus City twp. and a daughter of A.H. Parsons. Mr. and Mrs. Kauffman had four children: Milton, Dorothy N.; Charles B. and Arthur. 


Keller

Keller, W.N. (p. 178)

William N.Keller was born in Knox Co.,OHio, 31 January 1840, son of George and Mary (McLean) Keller, who were natives of Germany. They had ten children, only three named here: Mary F. m. James France; Adam, Indiana; and our subject. Mr. Keller married Margaret D. Cunningham, who was born 14 March 1854, daughter of Condy and Elizabeth (Hamilton) Cunningham. The father was a native of Ireland and the mother was born in Ohio.

Mr. and Mrs. Keller had eight children: Ezra, who lived in Washington State; George; Richard, of Oregon; Charles; Lee; Grove; Marion; and Lena.


Kemper

Kemper, George (p. 255)

George Kemper was born in Muscatine Co., Iowa, on the 3 February 1863, the son of Henry and Charlotte (Winenberg) Kemper, natives of Germany who emigrated to The United States about 1855. Mr. Kemper married Mary Priebe in1808. She was the daughter of Henry and Dorothea Priebe.  Mr. and Mrs. Kemper had four children: William McKinley, Dorothea, Oscar and Elna. 


Kerr

Kerr, G. W. (p. 438)

George Wilbert Kerr was born in Henry Co., Illinois, 21 April 1865, the son of Thomas Walker and Amanda (Henninger) Kerr. The parents were married in 1859 and the father died 29 February 1896 and his wife died 11 November 1908. There were nine children in hte family: Ella m. F.O. Withrow of Geneseo,Illinois; Amy, m. James Burton of Kalispel, Montana; our subject; Lena m. E.E. Withrow of Los Angeles, CA; Mina m. Percy Davis of Geneseo; James; Thomas; William and Harry Z.

G.W. Kerr was married at Geneseo, Illinois on the 18 of July 1889 to Fannie E. Farber, daughter of Paul and Anna (Ulan) Farber, the former born in Ohio and the latter in Pennsylvania. Mr. and Mrs Farber only had the two children: Fannie E. and Catharine m. Warren Sykes of Stoneville,S.D. Mr. Farber was twice married, the first wife was Mary Ann Hill, daughter of James Hill.  By that uion, there were five children: james W. of Mulvane,Ks; William H. and Edward of Geneseo, Ill; Jane m. Robert Clausen of Alpha, Ill. and Sheldon of Stoneville, S.D.

Mr. and Mrs. Kerr had nine children: Charles Wilbert b. 6 July 1890; Grace Gertrude, b. 3 December 1891; Paul W. b. 29 July 1893; Bernice Amanda b. 6 February 1808; F. Everett b. 28 February 1900; Roy R. b. 28 February 1902, d. 29 February 1902; Irma b. 9 May 1904, d. same day; Willis b. 16 March 1906; and George Samuel b. 19 June 1908. 


Kerr, H.Z. (p. 463)

Harry Z Kerr was born in Geneseo on 3 May 1882, the son of Thomas Walker and Amanda (Henninger) Kerr.  The father was born in Pennsylvania and the mother in Wooster Co., Ohio 23 February 1841. They were married in 1859.  Mr. Kerr died 29 February 1896 and Mrs. Kerr on 11 November 1908.  For their children,see above account.

Mr. Kerr married in Illinois on 21 December 1904, to Dora M. Hall, daughter of Albert and Harriet (Anderson) Hall. She was one of five children, the others: Abbie M. m. James Hall of Woonsocket, S.D.; Arthur W.; Frank W.; and Gertrude I. m. Ben Stottmeister of Warner, Il.

Mr. and Mrs. Kerr had the following children: Wilbert Warren b. 15 October 1905; Mabel Eelyn b. 2 November 1907; Norma Almyra b. 10 September 1909 and Roy Melvin b. 14 August 1911. 


Kerr, J. E. (p. 473)

James E. Kerr was born in Henry Co., Illinois, on the 23 May 1874, son of Thomas Walker and Amanda (Henninger) Kerr. (See above accounts for more about his family.)

He married 31 December 1902 to Mary I. Collis, the younger of two children of William and Lorinda (King) Coll

is, her brother was William Henry Collis of Henry Co., Illinois. Mr. and Mrs. Kerr had two children: Glenn William b. 2 November 1903 and Ruth Amanda b. 28 March 1908. 


Klotz

Klotz, J.G. (p. 388)

Jerry G. Klotz was born in Louisa Co. on the 15 December 1865, the son of John and Emeline (Mootheart) Klotz, natives of Pennsylvania. He had six brothers and sisters; H.J.; Laura m.Joseph Guins of Washington Co.; Cora M.; Rovena; and Robert. He married 21 May 1896 to Anna Schomberg, daughter of Jacob and Catherine (Hahn) Schomberg (See Schomberg record under Sc.)  Two children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Klotz: Gertrude J. and Grace Mildred. 


Klotz, T.J. (p. 251)

T.J. Klotz was born 5 August 1844 in Lehigh Co., Pennsylvania, the son of Joel and Sarah (Hausman) Klotz. He was one of eleven children. Mr. Klotz married 30 August 1868 to Anna A. Stapp, a native of LaFayette, Indiana, the daughter of Reuben and Ann (Reece) Stapp, born in Pennsylvania and Virginia, respectively.  Mr. and Mrs. Klotz had seven children: R.L.; Ada L. m. William Propst of West Liberty, Iowa; Hattie m. Dr. McGrew of Grandview, Iowa; Effie m. J. Don Darrow; Meda M. m. Dr. Blender of Carthage Il.; Peral L. m. L. Palmer of Carthage; and Paul M. 


Knott

Knott, B.F. (p. 448)

Benjamin F. Knott was born 20 October 1848 in Louisa Co., the son of Peter and Eliza (Kelly) Knott, the former born in New Jersey and the latter in Ohio.  Mr. Knott, Sr. came to Louisa Co. in 1845, but returned to Ohio for three years before returning. He died 12 May 1901 There wre tweve children in the Knott family: Benjamin F., of this review; Mary m. William Highsmith and lived at Council Bluffs, IA ; Edward; Charles, Holton, KS; John lived in State of Washington. On the 23 February 1876, Mr. Knott married 1)Emma Bennington.  They had four children: Lena m. Roy McNemar, of Waukon; Charles; Elmer; Myrtle m. Orlando Wilcox: Mrs. Knott d. 13 March 1909 and he m. 2) 18 July 1911, to Mrs. Catherine M. (Gipple) Sutherland, widow of Elihu Sutherland by whom she had five children: Lee W.; John S.; Naomi m.. Charles Smith of Greeley Center, NB; Carl of Denver; and Mary Margaret d. age 12. 


Knott, J.P. (p.201)

Jesse P. Knott was born 8 October 1878 in Concord Twp., Louisa Co., the son of Edward and Lavina Knott, natives of Louisa Co. His siblings were: William A.; Franklin d. age two; and two infants. On the 25 November 1900, he married Elizabeth O. Latta, of Muscatine Co., the daughter of J.M. and Rebecca Latta, both natives of Ohio. Her siblings were Willaim; Edith m. R.S. McDaniel of Louisa Co.; Pearl B.; Miles; and six others unnamed in this review. Mr. and Mrs. Knott had two children: Edward M. b. 25 May 1808; and William A. b. 20 September 1909. 


Knott, W.A. (p. 474)

William A. Knott was born 7 June 1883 in Concord Twp., the son of E.A. and Lavina (Walker) Knott (See above account)..He married in 1904 to Clara Nelson, a native of Muscatine, daughter of Alonzo and Agnes (Edmunds) Nelson. They had three children: Agnes; Donald; and Russell.


Korn

Korn, August, Jr.(p. 118)

August Korn, Jr. was born 25 April 1858 in Wapello, Iowa, the son of August and Katherine Korn, both natives of Germany. They emigrated to the United States locating in Louisa Co. during the pioneer days. Mr. Korn married Lydia F. Brendel, also a native of Louisa Co., the daughter of J.G. and Christiana Brendel, both born in Germany and emigrated to the United States and were among the very early settlers of Louisa Co.

Mr. and Mrs. Korn had ten children: Clara F. m. Edward Hayes of Toolsboro; Lillie F.; Alma M.; John A.; Lillie; Charles E. ; Esther R.' Anna M.; Freida O.; August, and Fannie. 


Kremer

Kremer, D.W. (p. 153)

Dale W. Kremer was born in Louisa Co., on 14 September 1861, the son of W.S. and Elizabeth E. (Whicher) Kremer. On the 13 September 1886, Mr. Kremer married Jennie Jamison, who was born in Newport, Ia., the daughter of J.W. and Rachel Jamison. The Kremers had two chidlren: Clara Pearl m. John A. Vogelgesang of Burlington, Iowa; and Nellie M. 


Kremer, G.C. (p. 168)

G.C. Kremer was born in Wapello, Iowa, on the 29 April 1860, the son of W.S. and Elizabeth E. (Whicher) Kremer. He married Ida J. Knaub on the 9 September 1890.  She was the daughter of Henry C. and Ella A. Knaub, natives of Pennsylvania.  Her father died 20 December 1899.  She was the eldes of twelve children: Lizzie m. George Garrett, of Friendship, Wisconsin; Sadie, m. Dr. J.J. Crider, of Coe Junction: Minnie M. m. Charles L. Duncan, of Coe Junction; Harry C.; Gertrude m. Guy Kuder, of Chicago; Margaret , m. Eugene Pease; Leon; Ethel m. Frederick Ruffle, of Chicago; Ruby m. Frank Kennedy; W.M. and Rexford.

Mr. and Mrs. Kremer had six children: Muriel; Clayton S.; Nita May; Arthur Z; Esther K. and Helen G. 


Kremer, W.S. (p. 124)

W.S. Kremer was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, on 1 January 1833, the son of Jacob and Mary (Sleppy) Kremer, both natives of Pa. There were five children in the family: W. S.; Isabel m. G.L. Dunn of Keithsburg, Illinois; Sarah m. Joseph Venable; Amanda m. Thomas Arundell, of Oxnard, CA; and Wesley P. of Rutherford, N.J.

On the 14 May 1859, Mr. Kremer married Elizabeth Whicher, daughter of Francis and Susan (Gregory ) Whicher.  They had seven children: Clarence; Dale; Guy; Kate; Stella m. H. Limbocker; Pearl and Glenn. The mother of the family died 31 January 1890.. 


Kuntz

Kuntz, S.A. (p. 552)

S.A. Kuntz was born in Livingston Co., Illinois, on the 10 April 1881, the son of Christian and Amelia (Smith) Kuntz, both natives of Germany, from which they emigrated.  They first settled in Illinois but in 1904 moved to Des Moines Co., Iowa.

Mr. Kuntz married in 1903 to Mary Berger, a native of Tazewell, County, Illinois. They had three children: Olivia, Milton, and Dorothy. They moved to Oakville, Louisa County, Iowa in 1909.
